At first this song wasn’t much of a success, if I’m not mistaken it was the first oasis single not to chart in the top 20 or top 10, I’m not really sure though. When I first heard it I actually really liked it, it sounded very melancholic and the lyrics seemed meaningful with the context of it’s release, though it might not be.
Nowadays it seems to be getting some more recognition, with it being the song with most the plays on Spotify off that album, which is pretty impressive in my opinion. So anyways I’m curious as to what you guys think of it, s far as Liam songs go, I think it’s one of his best

I also think it's one of Liam's best songs. It's one of those songs that can be considered one of Oasis's best songs. Not sure where I would put it but it has a great melody. There's an acoustic version out there I think that was played at a radio station where the acoustic guitar plays the main riff of the song. It's great.

It was the first to miss out on the top 10 but Noel bizarrely choosing to not put any b-sides on it didn't help that whatsoever.
Falling Down just after it then got a b-side and charted a little bit higher.
I think by then the rock relationship with the charts was already on the slide. Gone were the days where anything Oasis related would challenge the top spot.
They didn't help themselves though. Just like Liam/Beady Eye never did with things like staggered releases.

Totally underrated, but it's one of my favorites in the entire Oasis career. I'm partly glad it's not so well known. It is a small jewel for those who know how to appreciate it.

The remix version is so much better than the album version which is ruined by the John Lennon bit which the song didn't need at all.

Mediocre. Over Rated. Lennon clip needed turning up. Remix is way better. Ticking clock more dystopian - for the better. The end.

Not listened to it in years.
Think that says it all, maybe I should revisit it?

Not great but really good imo, one of Liam's best and in my top 5 off DOYS I wish he'd play it as a solo artist

I always loved it. Unsure of why it never landed with the public because it has a good hook.

Definitely a sleeper hit, demo version is good as well after the ear blasting lalalas, nice honest song from Liam.

The John Lennon bit is just cringe worthy. Just drives the point home that this is a pre-schoolers tribute song to the man.
It's a pretty melody but that's all, overall a horrible derivative production.
Liam, and Oasis in general, are better when they stay away from the Beatles obsession.

Find it really boring and forgettable. The lyrics probably don't help:
"Here's a song It reminds me of when we were young Looking back on all the things we done Got to keep on keeping on"

The song is nowhere near one of Liam's best and if I had to choose between Songbird and I'm Outta Time it would certainly be Songbird.

Love it. One of my faves.
Checked out the remix for the first time after hearing people praise it but I prefer the studio version. Short and concise. Although, the quote is wasted, I agree…!

bad song. i mean, not as bad as once, fwiw or that other song from his latest album i forgot the title from (...givin up), but in the oasis realm, it's a below average, clichè ridden song.

Thank you for posting this. Much as I like the song, playing it as an older guy ironically doesn't hit as hard for me. It becomes too obvious and cliched. It's the 'irony' of hearing him sing it as a younger man that gives it more punch somehow.

Just listened to it again and it's alright enough. But rather forgettable really.
Would be way down in a ranking of Oasis songs.
