I vote "clown". Especially since 2017. How, exactly, has Liam been a clown 2017-2023+ Liam’s comeback is one of the greatest in history. What comeback? He had a band that had albums that peaked at 3 and 2… Then went quiet musically for about 3 years (many successful bands and artists do) - and then he returned with a solo career. Yeah he had a bit of an upturn in popularity with the public and whatnot but It’s not like he really went downhill or had been devoid of success for years and years. I think this comeback thing is way overstated sometimes. He had already maintained a fanbase, hence Beady Eye charting well with albums and being able to walk into a record deal when he decided to go solo. People act like he worked his way up again from the very bottom after being a forgotten man for years. Yeah he’s carved out a pretty good solo career and been marketed well, but it was never going to bomb in reality. He’s Liam Gallagher from Oasis. He’ll have a good enough fanbase forever.

Beady Eye was not successful at all despite the bevy of press it was gifted (2012 Olympics, Live at Letterman set in the United States, for example). Noel was the top dog and Beady Eye was just considered the "other lads". If Liam went solo initially and with the same songwriting team, who knows how it would've turned out, but the success he had after all the nonsense in his life during and post-Beady Eye is nothing short of remarkable.

Two top 3 albums is unsuccessful? Ok that proves he’s always had a core fanbase that made sure his solo career wasn’t going to be a total disaster

Think you're underestimating just how bad Beady Eye were. It just seemed to be constant regression for Liam, lesser returns with Oasis and then releasing bum notes with what was always Oasis without the songwriting talent. I had my doubts, the return shocked me. Really good album, gave the fans what they wanted and his live performances are the best since the Oasis heyday.

Liam had a legitimate mental breakdown in 2013. His voice was terrible. He recovered both. Enough said.

First week sales are meaningless without longevity, as with everything.

While I enjoyed Beady Eye they were never going to be as successful as Noel and many people didn't even know who Beady Eye were. Ok they had two top three albums but those albums didn't sell that well to stay in the top 3 or the charts even for that long especially the BE album that sold less copies than Different Gear Still Speeding. Liam's solo come back has been amazing with four number one albums so far and hopefully more to come. Also, Liam played two sell out concerts at Knebworth last year and I could never imagine Beady Eye doing that.

I think a lot of people didn’t think Liam could either do it without Noel, or under his own name outside a band. So it’s been a big “comeback”
As for Lennon… Probably jealous. Shite on about how they did that in Hamburg in the 1960s. Well they stopped doing it and someone did it before them and plenty have after. 90s Oasis gigs were as good as it got for rock n roll in that period. All Lennon would be able to do if alive would be to watch it.
