Yeah I know but Alan didn’t seem to be interested to tour during the HC gigs. He wanted out, or at least that’s the posture he gave. I think he was tired of playing over drum machines… but unless everything we’ve ever heard from all sides is wrong, Alan got sacked, he didn’t want out. There was talk at the time that he didn’t turn up to some meeting which irritated Noel, him being with Liam in Munich probably didn’t help. And Noel was clearly restless at the time, DBTT is a very different album than everything which had come before; hard to tell though whether the change of drummer lead to or was a consequence of that. Yeah he was probably frustrated, that's understandable, especially for such a good drummer, HC tour was poor drum wise. But in the end, he got his big break thanks to Noel too, his status and the money that comes with it. If only for that... We dont really know what happened, i just felt like, watching those gigs, he didn't want to be there in 2002.

Just watching this gig
2001-06-11 Tweeter Center, Boston
Love it. Great set list. Steve White’s drumming, Andy adding bits on bass to the songs, Hammond organ and additional keyboard work by Mike Rowe, just straight forward rock n roll!
They didn’t use fuckin in the bushes as an intro song but came on stage to The Nashville SuperPickers cover of the Beatles Strawberry Fields Forever.

Each night Noel and Gem joined the Black Crowes during their encore for a cover song. These are the songs they played: Oh Well (Fleetwood Mac cover) Lucifer Sam (Pink Floyd cover) To Love Somebody (Bee Gees cover) I Dig Love (George Harrison cover) Everybody Knows This is Nowhere (Neil Young and Crazy Horse cover) Down on the street (The Stooges cover) Rebel Rebel (David Bowie cover) Can't You Hear Me Knocking (Rolling Stones cover) Road Runner (Bo Didley cover) Makes a great playlist! According to the Black Crowes fan site www.crowesbase.com there are recordings of every show but I have only heard three of the covers.

I haven't listened to any of these concerts in a long time. They were good ones but they're not my favourites out of all the Oasis concerts which I have.
