As a footballer, nobody could touch him except for a certian two wee guys from South America.
As a man, well he fucking blew it a long time ago and is paying the price for it now.
Wouldnt wish death on anybody, but as they say, if you live by the sword, your gonna die by it.

Agree with globe.
Great footballer, stupid stupid man.
He was given a second chance in life, that he only got because he was a famous footballer. And then drank away again, only weeks after.
I dont wish death on anybody, and I didnt on Gerorge Best. I wont lose any sleep that fact he has died, and I wont be celebrating it.

Legend!
They're discussing how to pay tribute to him. Like leaving a section of the area at OT to lay flowers/tributes etc. And maybe even putting up a statue of him next to Busby & Law, and even naming a stand after him. The fans get to decide which I think is pretty cool of United..

The Man was a Legend on the pitch and a party animal off it. He had taken it for granted what was given to him. Watching old videos of him and reading about him shows he is one of the greatest of all time. Maybe they can put his face in the seats instead of the vodafone logo in the East Upper seeing that vodafone are pulling their sponsership. The greatest player never to play in a World Cup? I think we'll all agree.

Geezer was a F***ing LEGEND! The Football world is a sadder place without him. Alcohlism is an illness, I think he tried but just couldn't help himself. R.I.P.

geroge best is not a legend, he was a bad father, a bad husband, and a fuckin twat of a person, im sorry but you cant say it any other way, he beat his wives, stole life when he took that kindney, and his excuse for this "the person who gave me it didnt leave a book of instructions", in all honesty, can anyone say the world isint as good a place as it was before lunch time today, i didnt wish him death, i wish no person that, but i sure as fuck wasnt staying up all night praying for him
as a footballer, he was given a talent as a man he wasted his life and abused those around him
my sympathys go out to those who miss him, or god love them were foolish enough to love him and to the family of the man that donated his liver to best

So did you get a liver or a kidney transplant? And if it was a liver it sounds that he needed a new one from alcohol abuse? And then he started drinking again with the new one? Thats pretty selfish.
Could someone tell me a bit more or post a good link?
cheers

as for his life you dont know everything about him in terms of his wifes, etc and you shoudnt belive everything you read.....as for the drink, you can say he lived by the sword he died by the sword; but that was his choice! he wanted to live his life to the full.
as for a player, one word; fantastic.

R.I.P. very sad! the guy tried so hard, his mother died of the bottle and looks like the son is going the same way. still, the greatest sportsperson to come out of northern ireland and the greatest football player britain ever had. respect to besty.

If you wanted any more evidence that Man Shitty fans were scum you had it today. Minutes silence had to be cut short apparently at the City-Pool match? vaginas. And Leeds fans as well apparently. What a set of wankers.
