Home. Was epic last night.
The crowd reaction to Stand By Me was incredible, probably the highlight. Hearing Roll It Over was pretty special also.
Liam and the band were on fire and I thought the sound was great considering how far back I was.
Also once you got in I thought it was all extremely well organised. I never queued for more than 5-10 mins for beer and never queued at all for a toilet.
Kasabian were a lot better than I expected without Tom.
I'm glad I sorted a room in the local Premier Inn before the tickets went on sale, it took forever to get out so I feel bad for anyone who was rushing for a train.

Yeah how did you manage that with the hotel - just take a gamble? I agree that getting a beer and going to the loo was fine but everything around the gig was just a total mess.

"update: On the first night in Knebworth it was 80 000 people, while on the second night it was 90 000. So Liam sang in total in front of 170 000 people in Knebworth which added to the 80 000 in Manchester is a total of 250 000 in 3 days. So in turnout, he equaled Oasis' Knebworth 1996, taking just one more day."

Takes: - Scale was astonishing - huge operation. Like Glastonbury, felt like a small temporary city had been erected! Massive. I can’t imagine what another 40,000 for Oasis must have been like! - VIP area well worth the extra 20 quid or whatever - quieter backstage area with great food stalls and bar - LG - looked and sounded amazing. White parka - I kinda gasped, knowing exactly why he chose that! - New songs - Once, Wall Of Glass and Everything’s Electric getting Oasis-song receptions. The phone lights during More Power! Really beautiful (as LG said). - Roll It Over had me in bits - what a tune. - Car parks - horrendous! Apparently people walking in the road on the way back to Stevenage, blocking cars. Pulled out at 2am, back to AirBNB about 3am! Knackered in my old age! - My mental state - mix of having the time of my life and being overwhelmed (having missed out in 96, this was a BIG deal for me). Teared up a couple of times - during the walk to the arena seeing Knebworth House - something so recognisable to me - seeing LG’s helicopter fly over during Kasabian’s ‘Fire’ - Roll It Over. - This morning - stiff and knackered. Gigs in my 40s hey! But let’s do it all tonight (perhaps with wellies on as it’s gonna rain!!!) Day 2 takes: - For me: even better. Liam more relaxed / chatty / clearly visibly moved. Ordered a Guinness to be delivered to the stage during the encore as a symbol he knew the triumph was his! - The crowd: rarely have I seen a happier, more smiling crowd. No nastiness, just people having the weekend of their lives. Vendors happy to chat, security happy to chat. - Weather: my God Liam lucked out. Biblical rain overnight started about 1am! - Cameras and drones everywhere. I’m sure the Blu-Ray will be epic! - Last thought: I’m sure Liam towards the end shouted it had been one the best weekends of his life - ours too!

With Premier Inn I think you can cancel for free up to 3 days before the date of your booking.

It certainly would've made the day a whole lot better with 2 hours less walking and 2 hours less spent on a train.

Amazing gig and day. Incredible memories made for sure. I had zero issues with getting in out. No issues with the bar or toilets. Was pleasantly surprised.
We got ourselves down from Aberdeen so it was a bit of an operation. Got a train down to Sheffield on the Friday night. And a gig bus from Sheffield to the venue at 10AM sat morning. Bus had a cracking atmosphere, everyone on it and at the gig was just so happy and friendly. Most zen Oasis-related gig I’ve been to I reckon. Was back in the hotel at Sheffield by 3:30AM.
sucks to hear some guys and girls had a big of mare with the travel. Sometimes it happens, had bigger stresses myself just trying to get home from a gig 5 miles from my house!!
Just wanted to give my positive experience cause I think the organisers are getting enough pelters when all in all it was a very special day

medium.com/@rahuliole/the-times-are-wrong-out-of-touch-knebworth-was-f-cking-brilliant-1eada9eeb2c1The Times are wrong & out of touch: Knebworth was f*cking brilliant 7am alarm. 3am return. Hours of queuing, overpriced Carlsberg and a nightmare with transport to watch Liam Gallagher return to Knebworth. Was it all worth it? 100 percent yes. Waking up this morning and reading a review of the day in The Times certainly did not help my hangover. Apparently, all Oasis fans are White, middle-aged, Brexit-voting pissheads. The sheer snobbery coming from such a large paper really didn’t sit well. I, a 24-year-old, remain voter of Indian origin whose parents immigrated to the UK from Africa, am a massive Oasis fan. When Oasis tore Knebworth apart at the peak of their powers in 1996, I was two years away from being born. Some of those lucky enough to be in attendance back then were handed an opportunity to relive one of the most iconic performances in the history of Rock music. Why should their presence in 2022 be criticised? Yes, there were middle-aged white men in attendance enjoying a few beers in the sunshine. Is this such a heinous crime? The Times were very quick to attack the appearance of those in the 80,000-strong crowd. Meanwhile, a mixed crowd of men and women, old and young, drank, hugged and sang together while Liam Gallagher delivered a masterclass on stage. Oasis released Definitely Maybe in 1994. They sold out Knebworth 15 times over in 1996. 26 years later, Liam Gallagher sold it out again even without Noel, Bonehead and the rest of Oasis, with a new legion of young fans coupled with plenty of long-time admirers. The youth weren’t there to make up the numbers: we were chanting his name and belted out every word of his 21-song set-list, be it a classic like Wonderwall or one of the tracks from his new solo album. Liam will go down as one of the greatest frontmen in the history of Rock, and rightfully so. Despite all the drama over the years, his passion for his craft and his fans cannot ever be denied, and this was on display again on an emotional evening near Stevenage. Rocking his iconic white parka and arriving by helicopter armed with a choir and his maracas, Gallagher had finally seen his dream come true: he returned to the scene of his greatest triumph with Oasis and delivered by himself. Opening with classics Hello and Rock and Roll star meant the crowd continued the energy provided by the magnificent Kasabian before, which was followed by an energetic singalong of Morning Glory to sweep the crowd off their feet. A number of solo songs, including Wall of Glass and Everything’s Electric proved popular, giving the middle finger to The Times and The Guardian who reduced such an outstanding evening to a mere nostalgia blast. His backing band and choir provided excellent support, especially during More Power, a different yet still impressive song off the new album, and the visual effects were phenomenal from start to finish. The powerful encore was rounded off with Champagne Supernova, which incredibly saw “the coolest bloke in the world” John Squire, formerly of The Stone Roses, appear with his guitar to finish off a majestic performance with a magical atmosphere. Music is about unity, and I was arm in arm with some of the middle-aged white blokes in attendance, screaming the songs we love with no thought about age, race or political leanings. There was no mention of Brexit despite the eagerness of the media to label 80,000 people’s political views based on absolutely nothing. The Times can slander “beanie hats” (did they really mean bucket hats?) and people having a good time enjoying a show which was fantastically put together if they want, the truth is, no one cares. In reality, they’re out of touch with Gallagher’s spirit and attitude which saw Oasis become big in the first place, and what makes him popular across generational and geographical divides. Some of the sneering reviews about the performance reek of classism and snobbery. If people want to wear bucket hats and enjoy music in a lively but friendly atmosphere on a sunny bank holiday weekend, let them!

Everyone was in great spirits the whole day. Just a sea of people absolutely buzzing to be there. Made it even more special after the last few years we've all had. How good was More Power by the way? Sounded so epic.

Boy oh boy did our kid pull that off….
From the moment I walked in around 1pm and the first song that came on the PA was Pulp’s Disco 2000, probably my favourite non-Oasis Britpop song, I just thought “I’m meant to be here”. And it only got better from there.
All well-run, no long waits for merch, beer, food or toilets. Pissed down all 5hrs back, so got hugely lucky with the weather; bright but not too hot.
Except the occasional drunk yob who gets slung out by security, everyone round me was friendly and buzzing for it. Not just going for an opportunity to hang out and get pissed with mates. There for the gig.
Not a huge Kasabian fan, but they were so much better than I expected considering Tom left. And then came the man….
…What a blast. Acoustics were amazing, and Liam and the band pretty much nailed every track. Compared to before he is sounding so good these days. I wasn’t sure about Roll It Over at first, but I was sure won over by the end of it. His on-stage humour as confidently good as ever - even my mate who’s not really an Oasis fan belly-laughed when Liam had his Guinness on stage near the end.
Great setlist - i hadn’t looked at Friday’s so wasn’t expecting Some Might Say. With the reception Wall of Glass, Why Me Why Not and Once got its clearly not just a tribute to 1996; they are now live favourites. And given I’d just told a lad next to me he’d quit music so would never appear, I sure wasn’t expecting John f*ing Squire! Literally felt like my heart had stopped. And for Stand By Me, my favourite song played and second fav of Liam/Oasis overall, to get maybe the best audience response of all was just the icing on the cake.
Born a fortnight after the 1996 gigs, for my generation it feels like an event I can tell people “I was there”. Sorry that some of yous had some issues getting back; at least the lost girl was found. And Liam Gallagher, a living legend, fellow Blue and my hero since I was 6, cheers for what may be the best gig I’ll ever see.

Nicely put. I admit I didn’t exactly have a council estate upbringing, but that Times review was so snobbish it still made my goddamn blood boil. Maybe need to change their name, as it seems to be what they’re the furthest away from.
