So he’s said he may do one for RSD
The below will no doubt feature..
Mind games You ain’t goin’ nowhere The mighty quinn All you need is love
But what would you like to hear him take on? I remember him saying he does a good version of hand in glove. Kinks - strangers?

Stuff that isn't classic 60's/70's indie songs from white male bands/singers, to be honest.
All good tunes, of course, but he's been doing those kind of covers for three decades. Give us a Prince tune. Let's hear him turn Billie Holiday's "Good Morning Heartache" into something that could be released now. Give us a cosmic-pop version of "Living for the City" by Stevie Wonder. Do something by Bjork. If it's all the usual suspects then I'm sure it'll be a perfectly competent release, but a missed opportunity to show off the kind of wide range of influences that so much of his best music has had under the surface. Especially since Who Built the Moon.
Have fun with it, Noel!

Don't believe Noel has it in him anymore. Old as well, I get it. Willing to let the wine mellow though.

If he's going to do a covers album (not a huge fan of them -- precious few great cover albums in existence, and they tend to quickly fall out of the rotation, but OK for a RSD treat) it would be way more fun (and attention-grabbing) if he doesn't just do the expected.

Unpopular opinion - Noel Gallagher is not good at doing covers.

As long-time Bob Dylan fan (pre-dates my love of Oasis, by many years!) I am surprised but pleased to see that he has been listening to The Basement Tapes.
There was some evidence that even Liam had been listening to Bob a while back I remember, something about the "wheel still in spin" and "times changing", on a recent album if I remember right.
There's no escaping the mighty Zim!

If Noel did do a covers album then I think he should do songs completely different which we wouldn't expect from him and come out of his comfort zone.

I'd like a copy of his version of To Be Someone. It was brilliant at Chicago '98. Also a cover of the Oasis classic Don't Look Back In Anger wouldn't go a miss. I think he'd be quite good at it.

Loved his Smiths cover from 2006 semi acoustic gigs, he could have another go at There Is A Light That Never Goes Out. I'm struggling to imagine things off the top of my head that I'd like him to cover. Fuck it just do an album of random Beatles covers and I'd be quite happy

Always loved this tune too. Imagine all the harmonies they could try with the ladies in the band, would be interesting

I know it's been done a million times before and it's such a cliche but I think Noel would do a great Like A Rolling Stone cover

Back To The Old House by The Smiths. Acoustic, only Noel with his guitar.

I'd love a studio version of NG's There Is A Light That Never Goes Out! That was what I was about to type...the Albert Hall gig with Weller an immense version of this.
