And fuck me I'm dreading seeing O'Donnell up against Sterling on Friday. That's gonna be a massacre, get Patterson on (at least he's probably not on a Motherwell FC team diet of Big Macs and ice cream like O'Donnell).

I dunno, there's just this weird innate conservatism in Scottish football in playing functional but unskilled footballers. Old habits die hard. |

Really can’t be bothered with the Euros this year.
Missed the England game, have yet to watch the highlights....I want it brought home, but as of now I really have zero interest.
Apart from the heroics of 2018, I’ve lost almost all enthusiasm for the England squad post Golden Generation of 1996 - 2006.
(And more broadly international football in general. Nation League was the final nail - wtf is that bullshit... I literally still don’t understand the format...)

Most entertaining game of the tournament so far. Kudos to Sweden for really going on the offence instead of, as one might have thought, putting 11 men in their own penalty box, kicking the ball out of the stadium at every oppurtunity, and relying on Spanish ineffectivity and a great goalkeeper.

I used to like the idea of VAR but after watching Germany-France and Finland's game yesterday I've started to realise the game would probably be better without it.  Why can't they use it for this kind of situations? If they're gonna rule out goals for a few cm offsides then surely they could also hand red cards for dangerous tackles. |

I think VAR has been pretty much perfect this tournament. Used for obvious errors and objective judgements.
