I don't think it's going to be a best of. Has to be something else and the plan would be to release the vol. 2 and maybe vol. 3 on the next RSD drop after this first one...

I really hope you’re right but the July RSD list has already been released and there is no volume 2 in there. That title could just be leaving it open for another best of in the future (2022 - 2032). If I remember correctly, in 2019 we had the RSD release ('Wait and return') and Black Star Dancing almost at the same time. We could be getting both the demos compilation (for RSD) and the EPs compilation plus one-two new songs |

If it's a best of or even Outtakes from that era in two or three volumes, it's unlikely we will get a new record this year.

Told you it is a "Best of" album, it will contain b.sides and remixes, maybe a new track and your favourite remixes. How do I know this? Releasing new music nowadays is a very risky business with little return for investment in production costs (I seriously doubt Noel works for charity). If you launch a new song on whatever the platform, you make a big fuzz about it, you don't do it without a proper marketing scheme or under a very niche platform such as RSD (unless you are a small artist for whom RSD is actually a big deal). Otherwise we would've had already at least five interviews, one cover magazine like a "what's Noel been doing over the last couple of months" thing and the usual "marketing campaign" that predates every single new music release. I even believe the launch of the demo for "we're gonna get there in in the end" was kind of an strategy to test the reception of the song, especially its vibe (acoustic vs dance.
Or maybe I'm just jaded with the music industry...

LPs the prices of doubles. Plus a best of with totally exclusive yellow vinyl is the bees knees. We shall see. |

I really don’t think his back catalogue justifies a best of yet.
He’s only done 3 albums and you can easily pick them all up for £40!
Clinging on to the slim hope this is rarities or has a rarities bonus disc.
