A band where Noel wrote songs. Your point? Those songs are THOSE songs because Noel wrote and Liam sang them. Without Liam or Noel: no Wonderwall. And no, Wonderwall with Noel vocals is not the same iconic Wonderwall. Not to mention Slide Away, Listen Up, Stand by Me, ecc. The two of them are the ingredients of the great recipe known as Oasis. Anyway, everytime the same boring Noel vs Liam, Liam vs Noel. Yaaawnnnn. Yet another non sequitur. I'm saying that this thread is specifically about whether Liam would be better with or without Noel, and thus was bound to spark this debate.

Personally, I would never want an Oasis reunion to happen. It would mean Noel dictator over everything, setlists always the same, Liam mixed badly in concerts, and interviews mainly given by Noel. It would be awful for a band to run like this.
Liam's solo path instead is very fluid and free and is giving us incredible emotions. Thanks to all of this, Liam is calm and sings really well, better than any post-2002 Oasis gig.
I don't express myself on Noel soloist, because I don't like him and I don't follow him anymore.

Interesting, I get your point but I don't think Liam wanting Oasis back together, which he loves as a teenage fan would still, means in any way that he does not have fun and does not like what he does. Noel made good music and loves what he does but he obviously is not living his glory days, he's enjoying it but blatantly not like he he did in the 90s, Noel has the better hand because people who create can "get lost" in their art so it's something solid but that's it, he misses the recognition. Liam loves to sing and do gigs, he does it, now I'm sure not all his songs make him ecstatic but to be fair only the thirst 3 oasis albums were full of songs he loved. Noel had had years to make peace with the death of Oasis which he thought of since the 00s, Liam has only recently been getting out of his dark time, plus money, and the fact it seems to be Noel and Oasis or no Oasis no Noel I think Liam enjoys his solo career and he's obviously doing well, but I can't help getting the sense that everything must feel a bit empty to him. It's clear how badly he wants to be back with Noel and Oasis, no matter what he's said to the contrary. Liam seems like he's doing this in the mean time, but still anxiously waiting for the reunion. He hasn't settled into his solo career like Noel has. I'm sure Noel does miss the constant praise and packed stadiums, and it's obvious that he's not living his glory days, but who is in their 50's? Noel's an artist, Liam's a singer. Noel loves what he's doing, and Liam could never understand that. He just likes playing Rock and roll tunes, and it's obvious that he wants to do that with Oasis. Liam's solo music will always just be a pop music indulgence. He'll never achieve any sort of artistic fulfillment out of it, because he doesn't have an artistic voice. For all the crap Noel gets on here for being bitter and miserable, Liam's the one that seems truly unhappy, however well he may be doing. I get your point that Noel's in charge of creation so he can thrive alone, but I do believe that you can't think of how Liam feels based on Noel's experience, I think it's like the difference between a director and an actor, a director is the one in power to create the film and can even play in it if he likes, while the actor depends on the director but that doesn't make them less happy to experience their work or less able to make their parts into a creation of their own, I think it's the same for a singer, (and many singers including icons like Presley and Sinatra did not write music alone), they need good songs and good songwriters to thrive but they do make the song something unique. The Pb with Liam is that he has no one I think who gives him the words he wants to sing today. Also who knows what's in Noel's head, I'm sure he loves making music that's for sure, but the way you feel when you create a masterpiece and the way you feel when you are not is different, my point being, I agree Liam looks like he's in a constant state of waiting for the big Oasis return and that Noel is not, but 1) I think they both feel the loss of smth but Liam is just more vocal and obvious about it and imagines Oasis will fix it 2)I'm sure Liam knows Noel loves what he's doing, he said to Noel in the early days you'll write songs at 40+ in an other style because you need to write while Noel was like no way I will, but imagines they'll do smth better together, now it's up to interpretation personally I believe Liam would have better luck with a new songwriter than Noel nowadays because they don't have the same message anymore but I don't think it's so much being unhappy as not being able to turn the page of what you think is the best time of your life.

It always has to be one is better than the other, oasis was that great because it was the perfect balance of two very different types of energy. There was always vulnerability and strength and melancholy and optimism together and that was great. Now it's over though because they're both set in their ways that's why I personally don't care for an oasis reunion, unless there is a miracle and they become super close again and find a message they both want to express but I don't believe

Yeah, that's fair I suppose. I didn't mean to insult Liam or say he wasn't creative at all. I simply meant to say that Noel is a creative visionary and thus wants to spread his wings and push his music forward. Liam just wants to be a singer in a band, namely Oasis. That's why I feel Liam needs Oasis to satiate his creative desires while Noel is fine on his own.

In other words this thread was bound to spark this argument because it directly compares Liam singing Noel's songs to Liam singing songs by Liam and his producers. I hope there's no more confusion here.

During the Oasis era and after (twitter) he did a lot of stupid and unprofessional things. I see them both nowadays in good moments, I love their albums... Not a fan of a reunion as a band but for a reunion tour... Id bought the ticket... Yesterday. 🤗

I'd much prefer an Oasis reunion to a Liam solo gig. That being said, I'd much prefer a Liam solo gig to a Noel solo gig (the funny thing is Noel's gigs involve four past members of Oasis if you count Mike Rowe as an unofficial member, but I'd still rather here the rasp of Liam since he has been singing pretty well the last few years and the truth is I ended up liking the band because of his voice, not because of good the songs were. The appreciation of Noel's songwriting came later).
Like a lot of people on here in terms of first world problems that have no actual bearing on one's individual's life, I would be more than ecstatic to read a news headline that Liam and Noel have buried the axes and a reunion is happening.
I can't believe I'm saying this (and I used to criticize the Rolling Stones for this) but I would want Oasis to reform and play shows for the next two decades (like the Stones did in the late-80s when it was apparent Jagger and Richards did not really like each other at all and rumors were swirling that the Stones were going to break up) because honestly even if Liam and Noel do not like each other, both would make more money this way, more generations would be exposed to the music of Oasis through a much larger medium than their two solo careers, and people who would want to see them as Oasis would get the opportunity to see to see them.
I still find it really odd that two grown men around the age of fifty cannot patch things up. And I really like both of them as music artists I am not trying to insult them. It's just when there is the opportunity to make so much money off of reuniting as a band I'd think that an opportunity like that would at least interest the brothers in working things out.
And I am not blaming either one. Both of them say mean things about the other, and both are them are to blame for the band breaking up. I will admit (as most who have seen me post know) I am much more of a Liam fan, but that's partly because he did not break up the band. If Liam had broken up the band, then I'd probably have ended up more as a Noel guy.
TLDR: They should find a way to work things out. In the long run it would probably benefit them both.

In other words it compares Liam directly to noel. Understand? Noel isn't in a feud with Wyatt or Kurstin, so naturally that wouldn't have come up. I'm really tired of this nonsense, so unless you have something new to say, please don't quote me.

If that is taken out of the equation, Noel has much less of a reason to rationally hold a grudge.

Responding to something I wrote with a bunch of emojis is certainly trolling. I'm responding to the first part btw. Have no clue what the rest of this word salad is supposed to mean in the context of this conversation.

This was going alright when I went to bed Yup. This thread was fine earlier - I’m at a loss why people have to ruin all the good that happened just one week ago. No idea what’s happening. I’m not reading these essays, so I have no idea what is going on in here.

Even though I really enjoy Liam's solo gigs there are certain Oasis songs he sings where I sometimes miss Noel's vocals in the background. Songs like Stand By Me and Morning Glory come to mind.

Oasis are over and done with. There'll never be reunion which is a good thing in my book. Besides Noel and Liam don't need each other anymore and are better apart.
