I really want this to be the comeback of his voice but as someone pointed out earlier - it’s likely to have been polished afterwards. Does anyone know from hearing this - how much is it the real Liam compared to some studio trickery? Like can you tell his voice has vastly improved even under all the tweaks etc? Cheers Of course it has been polished but he nailed them, this is 90/95% liam

Can we PLEASE get a Melodyne expert in here? They always pop up when an album is released and I feel like I need some expertise on pitch correction and autotuning before I can make my mind up on if I love this performance or if I never want to listen to it again...

Hello is fantastic, gave me some nostalgic emotions. But I think this Hello lacks something agressive than it was in 90s. Liam just sings it. For me Hello is punch-in-da-face song, Liam did it with pure energy and rage at the same in 90s and 00s. Maybe during new tour and Liam's typical vocals problems it would sound more emotional
Live of new song much better than studio, at least it sounds more vivid

Hello sounds alright... my expectations were high from this forum going a bit mad. Sounded good but not the mega vocal I was expecting.
However... All You're Dreaming of sounds unreal. Better than the studio version.

Always found the album version to be a bit much

Can't stop listening to this version of AYDO. I don't care if it has been polished, what a voice.

Look at the later Beady Eye acoustic performances for example, they were touched up but he still sounded poor and weak. There is only so much you can do. Here he sounds full and has so much power in his voice again. It's incredible the turn around. That Hello is better than the 2002 tour by a long way and that was 18 years a go, mental.

I couldn’t believe it when i heard both tracks this morning i was actually quite emotional, i know he has had a long break but he has had them before and never returned like this, it’s almost like he’s had a surgical procedure on his vocal chords. Anyway, Jonathan Ross will be interesting to see how close he can get to this recording.

His voice was great at the beginning of his solo career. First recordings of Paper Crown for example were amazing. Then it got back to the same level it was during BE times. Not even to mention how it was during the last Oasis years. Liam needs to rest his voice once in a while. The performance today was great, although it was mixed and probably not even recorded today... But still, best vocal performance we've heard in years.

AYDO sounds better than the studio version. I like the Hello version, the band sounds great and has improved a lot and Liam's voice is perfect. But 'better than the 2002 tour' ... I think we're exaggerating a bit

Liam always starts new album campaigns on fire vocally. He does lose steam as time passes and it is to be expected. He’s not 25 anymore. Almost 50. Like an aging athlete, you don’t keep the top level skills forever. He’s doing fine for who he is in 2020.

Maybe if he didn't do as much drugs or drink as much, he would sound better but even still, he probably wouldn't sound like he did in "The glory years"!

Just like in all walks off life, some are lucky, some aren’t. Some singers have maintained their vocal durability and quality like Eddie Vedder, Dave Grohl, Thom Yorke or Billy Corgan. Others haven’t and it can be a struggle if not managed right. Liam falls into this camp. It is what it is.

Live version is better. I can't explain why. It just is. Maybe because it sounds slightly more raw and less polished, despite being touched up.

Hey the band gets a lot of shit on the forum but they did a perfect job for hello, it sounds massive If i'm honest I think the band is alright, just the mixing isn't usually very good in my opinion. I agree with you there and to be honest I don't have much of a problem with the band.

I guess we're comparing apples and oranges as this was during a tour while Hello's performance on the boat was a one off. Anyway if your focus is on Liam's voice I agree that the 2020 version sounds mint, but I prefer Oasis version overall (voice+musical rendition/instruments). Noel'S guitar is irreplaceable IMO and the 2002 version has more punch. But Liam's band did a great job, the guitarists improved a lot their chemistry and sound. To each their own

I liked both tracks. The mix is good and the band sounds great. So this is a recording from the Thames concert? I was hesitant but now i'm pretty sure i'll watch it

Granted that's a poorer-quality recording with no polishing after so not quite a one-to-one comparison, but... yeah. The Thames version is fantastic, I'd rather listen to it anytime.
