I agree that the band were great and I hope that they will stick to this level in the future. Mind you now that they have played a good few gigs together then they should be a lot more confident now anyway. Tbh I think they've done well as not been playing gigs for ages due to covid! That's true and to be honest I think that they get too much stick on here as they're not that bad. But the river gig they seemed to have sounded better than they ever have done.

Fuck it ..we all have shit days.. and that was very much not one of theirs collectively. We won't get oasis v2 with Liam on vocals, but this was a great example of how session players can at the very least sound grandiose with the right mix of lead talent.

The only thing I agree with is that Liam's backing vocalist needs to be a bit stronger. Like sometimes you can't even hear him. But I don't know if that is more the mix or him just not singing very loudly because in videos he doesn't really seem to be singing really loudly.

Combined with the amazing setlist (Whatever, Listen Up, Slide Away...) - still in my TOP 5 since Liam went solo.

I think a week of rehearsals at Brixton Academy was an important factor in the bandβs performance. Iβve always rated them, they are very talented and most of them are music academics so clearly have a deep understanding technically. Apart from the occasional issues from Jayβs stage fright and Dan who can get complacent and take his eyes off the ball, I think theyβre doing Liam justice.

What a gig that was. I remember watching this live and recording it on VHS! Sounds like it was a century ago. Stay Young was brilliant. This + mtv unplugged + Maine road on VHS = the 90s Forgot Live by The Sea, dammit. This + mtv unplugged + Maine road + Live by The Sea on VHS = the 90s

I prefer the Liam gigs now to most late Oasis gigs I went to. I was too young for most, just managed to scrape a few in 2008 in the middle of my Year 10 GCSEs π Oh God! At least you wonβt live with the lifelong burden of missing on Maine Road and Knebworth tickets when I was that age! (WHY DIDNT I JUST SHOW UP AND TOUT!!!!) But... at least you saw Oasis in the Nick of time β but itβs better now in my humble opinion!

Mostly "older" people like me talking about how good the 90's were Now that his vocals are back it's a totally different experience. His solo stuff is really good and I think he gets a lot of younger fans nowadays (new fans) as well. Like a said before - it's definitely a good time to be a Liam Gallagher fan these days.

Yeah, they were all great that night and of course we will never get Oasis v2 but like I've said they aren't that bad as a band and are much better than when they first started with Liam three years ago.

Oh I fully agree with you about the backing vocals they do need to be louder than what they are. I'm not sure either if it's just him or if it's the mix. On some days he sounds quieter than others.

I was blown away by this last night. Fade Away and Headshrinker sounding great? Greedy Soul being back to the true electric version that rocks? The band sounding much better than usual? I keep thinking about everyone who asked if Whitey was on the drums for Hello after the BBC radio broadcast it, which is a kind of a backhanded compliment to Liam's drummer basically. All in all this was an amazing gig and probably the best one he's given us of his solo career. In Headshrinker I was disappointed how the 2 new guitarists were making a mistake in the chorus. The appeared to be playing B instead of G which was very jarring to me. Only Bonehead was playing the correct G chord and sadly his guitar just couldn't be heard in the mix. Also, I didn't like how the solo missed the harmonic notes at the end. And just not enough feedback sounds, it was sad to see Bonehead struggle shaking his guitar close to the amp to no avail.

I think the band also missed a small portion of the intro on Fade Away. I will admit I was definitely more focused on Liam regarding the Oasis songs he hadn't played when making the first part of that comment.

I was obsessed with this gig back in 2018! The setlist is just so cool! The recording is also pretty good. Only thing I didn't understand was what the crowd was singing between the songs for the most time. Like I said still in my TOP 5 - probably even in my TOP 3 gigs since Liam went solo. Right now I would say: 1 - Down by the river 2 - MTV Unplugged 3 - TRNSMT Festival

Also the Reading Festival concert is another favourite of mine.

true, it's like he wasn't even there. Left or right! none, tbh. Bonehead is just here to pretend he plays, but his guuaaaitar ? Nowhere to be heard. It's probably not even Bonehead.

How massive does The River sound? Especially the part 'You gotta scream and shout, if you're gonna work this out..' when they sing together. Love it.
