Biblical guigsysEstring. Another piece of the puzzle solved with the date of the WTSMG cover shoot! Now, if only we can pin down the exact dates of two sessions at Rockfield (I believe I have them based on detective work, but have yet to find a source that explicitly states them) and Tony's last recording session at Loco Studios in February, 1995.

Now, if only we can pin down the exact dates of two sessions at Rockfield (I believe I have them based on detective work, but have yet to find a source that explicitly states them) and Tony's last recording session at Loco Studios in February, 1995. They were definitely in Loco Studios on 25th February 1995 according to Paul Mathur in 'Take Me There Oasis The Story (p121)' as Liam and Noel watched the Nigel Benn-Gerald McLellan boxing match upstairs at the studio that day. Based on his writings on the same page that after the fight ended Owen Morris played the final mix of 'Some Might Say' and based on p114 and p118 of the same chapter where he references meeting Oasis at the studios and spending three days in the studio I'd hazard a guess at 22nd to 25th February as your dates. Also referenced on p118 is the brothers watched an episode of 'The Word' (A Channel 4 live broadcast programme broadcast on Fridays) with episode 5.13 going out on 24th February. This episode featured a 'during broadcast' telephone vote for the most popular clip to be shown again which as the book states was won by Oasis making their TV debut with Supersonic', and is verified by watching the dated episode from 37.00 onwards-

It's interesting to note that they were touring in the US before and after, with a gap from the 18th of February until a gig on the 3rd of March, back in the US. That makes sense because I know that there are tax games you have to play by breaking up a tour/coming back, etc. Classic Oasis: get a week off and instead go right into the studio!

That makes sense because I know that there are tax games you have to play by breaking up a tour/coming back, etc. Classic Oasis: get a week off and instead go right into the studio! Regarding the Rockfield Studio sessions going on p318-319 of 'Getting High The Adventures of Oasis (Hewitt)' I believe the band entered the studios on Wednesday 10th May 1995. This is based on p318 saying that Noel had arrived at around two in the afternoon drunk and Jason Rhodes then set the equipment and guitars up to record the music to 'Roll With It'. According to the same source the band did five early evening takes then went to watch a 7pm football match whilst Owen Morris listened to the takes, picking the first one for Liam to record his vocals over in the morning. * The date is gathered from Owen Morris's "imminent birthday 13th May (Saturday) p319" being referenced on the Friday night as Brian Cannon arrived to celebrate it with them. Also referenced as being Friday night was Liam's voice straining after "He had been singing for three days" (Owen Morris quote on p319) * Looking back at Man Utd vs Southampton 10th May 1995 I think this was the match as the kick off is the same time as referred to on p318 and the match featured a then title chasing Man Utd (They would go on to finish behind the 1994/95 champions Blackburn Rovers). This makes sense to me as Noel, Liam and Guigsy would have wanted to see their city rivals lose, whilst Bonehead is a Man Utd supporter- Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs- My Man Utd (scyho.co.uk)
After Owen's birthday celebrations from Friday night to around 3pm Saturday wrote off the latter day Noel spent Sunday doing vocals for DLBIA which had been laid down on the prior evening whilst Liam and Alan went to the pub. The infamous fight kicked off upon their return and led to Alan driving Noel back to London that evening. (Sourced from p319-320 of the aforementioned book). P322 has Noel going to Guernsey with Meg on the day Everton beat Man Utd in the FA Cup final (20th May 1995) and also has Owen Morris being asked to mix the songs already laid down whilst Noel was over there. At the start of the fourth week (commencing on Monday 5th June if the original start date is correct) Marcus rang Owen at the studio to say Noel was thinking of coming back and soon afterwards Liam arrived in person, followed one by one by the other three band members. Noel arrived on the Sunday which would be the 11th June, and according to the book gave them two weeks to finish the album which would be up to 21st June based on previously mentioned dates. This ties in with p325 referring to Ted Kessler interviewing Noel on 17th June 1995- The feature ran on 24th June and talked about the fight, progress on the album and the then upcoming Glastonbury slot on 23rd June.

I have some other sources that put it earlier in May, but the Blackburn/Man U match definitely helps align it. I'll check the other sources in the morning and see what sense I can make of it. I typically trust the dates in Getting High, but I do question a few of the. For instance, I believe he is wrong about the date for the empty Duchess of York gig in 1993. Anyway, great work as always!

Thank you for the scans!
(about Headshrinker) "Nasty, menacing and full of venomous contempt for whoever it is about"
I remember reading that Headshrinker was about Liam's girlfriend that Noel hated, or was that just a rumor?

Also @salasana In Iain Robertson's (ex-road manager and security) book 'Oasis What's the Story?' (p52-53) he recalls during his first date with the band (18th August 1994 at the Astoria) a blonde girlfriend of Liam's from Manchester called Cerisse- I wrote this a few years ago:- The News of the World article is referenced at Pot Culture (Link) as being from 8th September 1996
