I'm gonna guess the driver is only allowed to drive X hours per day and would need to be put up. So a hotel near the house, probably.

Was that his response? Typically in that situation, a hotel so the driver can get good rest. If the hotel can't accommodate the bus parking, park it at a secure truck stop/service station and then get a ride to hotel. He didn't mention where the driver was staying, just that the bus is parked at a service station and then he (Noel) makes his way home from there. Colin Meloy of the Decemberists mentioned something similar in his tour diary last year, for the show they did in his home state, his wife drove him to meet the bus in a Target parking lot.

I'd assume it works the same outside the US, but here, correct, drivers can only drive so many hours/miles per day. In my touring days, when leaving out for a tour usually the driver would sleep at a hotel the night before, and the bus would be parked there. We'd all meet at that hotel parking lot to get on the bus. When coming back from a tour, it would depend if the bus was staying in town during the break (usually depends on length of the break) or if the bus needed to go back to the bus company for maintenance...we'd get dropped off at a parking lot somewhere, a Target, a truck stop, etc, where we could get picked up by wives/girl friends etc. For a tour like Noel, where he's leaving the US, the bus will more than likely go back to the bus company for some maintenance then go out for another tour with someone else. Yeah, this was specifically about Noel touring the UK (and Matt joining him on the bus etc). Quite why Noel even has a tour bus when he's going home most nights and his driver has to pick him up from whichever service station they leave the bus at is beyond me. The tour bus seemed redundant to me based on what he was saying about the UK tour as for most gigs, his driver could just drive him there and back...

If you had to go from one end of the UK to the other you’d probably rather do it in a tour bus than a car, though.

Noel on the podcast again, not much new information but some tidbits here and there:
- as clear and honest as he can be (not much), he kinda admitted he's going through it at the minute, he just wanted to get out of the country when the US tour started but it doesn't sound like it worked
- he loved the Nottingham gig (this was recorded before Crystal Palace), said it was the best of the tour so far, crowd was great and he thanked them
- did a Seinfeld quiz, apparently he knows more about that than Oasis
- him and Matt discussed the press release stuff they did for WBTM, they were amazed that jounralists and people printed it and took it seriously
- he said he's not convinced about writing an autobiography because the way he is he'd have to write it himself and then once it gets out he wouldn't agree with any of it, people would take anything 100% seriously and he likes to take the piss and tell a funny story. Him and Matt are plotting on writing a funny, illustrated one tho (will probably never happen but those were some fine minutes of podcasting)

He was on again, nothing worth of note apart from a detailed report on how Matt got absolutely shitfaced at/after the Brighton gig and Noel recorded it while he was playing the guitar at his house and chatting absolute bollocks - someone asked for his top 5 guitarists, he said: Marr, Gilmour, Neil Young, Pete Townshend, Steve Jones - he mentioned again the acoustic and more guitar-heavy albums, said he's chipping away with stuff he wrote in lockdown and those two records will come out when it's time. He doesn't have a clear idea of what's coming next as you don't wanna decide what you're gonna do while still on tour - he's really having this UK tour, said the Brighton gigs was maybe the most relaxed he's ever felt on stage, he loved it and also loved the ones after (despite the weather), mentioned how he was surprised by so many kids (like actual children with their parents) at his Bradford gig and how into it they were themselves, also mentioned the Essex crowd for how they stayed till the end despite the rain. He said they've really come together as a band and this is the best they've sounded - the Shaun Ryder collab was fucked over by Covid he said. He had a chorus and a backing track and send it to Shaun and he was kind of rapping over the verses but then with lockdown nothing happened with it - speaking of collabs, he mentioned the ones with the Black Keys, said it just sounds how you'd imagine his sound meeting theirs. One of the songs has a big Noel chorus he cheekingly said he wish he'd come up with for himself, I think it's called It Doesn't Matter if We Go Out of Love or something like that, I may be making this up - apparently he's a good agony uncle, contact him if you need advice

Thanks for write up!
Note: "It's Over If We Run Out of Love" was the David Holmes track based on an early version of This is the Place, so it would be interesting if the Black Keys song was so similarly titled, but who knows...

It might be just my mind mixing stuff up but I'm sure the word "love" was there

Also said he's getting the Definitely Maybe amp-rig setup that was brought out of storage for That Pedal Show sent to an amp Doctor and he's going to use it in future. Read into that what you will...

He was on again (sorry for not reporting from the latest two, but don't think anything crucial was said), good fun but nothing new A few nice tidbits:
- said the Belgium gig wasn't the best way to end this summer tour but he was incredibly happy about how the UK leg's gone down, said the crowds were great - he's got two months off, he's going to see U2 in Las Vegas and has some work to do in the studio (didn't specify what it is) - he won't change the setlist for the European leg, will maybe swap The Mighty Quinn for Mind Games, he's gonna change it for the UK arena tour tho - he's a big Kate Bush fan apparently - mentioned Bill Withers Live at Carnegie Hall as one of the best live albums he's heard - they were talking about 80s stuff, Matt was going through his 80s power rock (which then turned into just 80s popular stuff), playlist, Noel made quite a few suggestions, maybe play it back and write them down in the next few days and share

Think Noel and Matt are currently deleting lots of txts and blocking Russell Brand’s number right now?

Think Noel and Matt are currently deleting lots of txts and blocking Russell Brand’s number right now? Unless there is evidence of people being involved in Brand’s activities don’t link peoples names to him.

I really liked Russell Brand (when he was a comedian) but if this is all true then Christ Almighty...
I really hope we don't get Noel defending him publicly. I can imagine using his new "woke" schtick he's peddling and completely misread the room.
