I don't generally buy the argument that the value of that disc will decrease by 90% if the track is shared. Sure, maybe there are somewhat fewer people interested in purchasing it after the track is out in the wild, but there's still only one physical disc out there, and someone is going to want to pay to own it. That has always been my experience with Oasis collecting. But again, I've always been one to share what I find with with the community, no matter what I've spent. I think it's the thing I've enjoyed the most, over the years here. I've literally spent thousands of dollars over the decades hunting down rare tracks, cataloging what's out there, and helping make what I've found available to others, in the highest quality. Let's not forget that this community was not always a place where people shared things so readily. I'd like to think that myself and a few others have helped foster a willingness to share, that has been the norm in the Oasis community for quite some time, and is not necessarily seen in other fan groups. I'd hope it could continue, but sadly, that era seems to be coming to an end. I'd just say from personal experience, it feels better to share. Scott has been one of the most generous Oasis collectors I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was a huge supporter of my old rkid003 blog and has contributed to the forum(s) continually over the years, an absolute gentleman. I’m proud to call him a friend. i miss your blog Jim , it was genuinely highlight of my day.

Absolutely the same for me, I remember just watching youtube clips and I stumbled upon Jims blog like an Oasis in the desert, so many goods and tidbits.

^^
That’s what I like to hear! If it helped anyone embrace the band that little bit more than normal then it done it’s job.
It ran its course, maybe helped along by a few dirty wee bastards who could quite easily have just given a heads up rather than be a grass, but it did a job for so many. And again, a big thank you to all good guys who helped make it happen!

Lennon2217 The Walrus is partially free, thanks to oasispodcast and Kyle and Dan from the Oasis Collector's group: It says this in the description of the episode: Hello and welcome back to the oasis podcast - today's guests are Kyle and Dan from the Oasis Collectors Group. We are discussing the previously unheard Sawmills Studio Sessions (including the studio version of I Am The Walrus). If you want information on getting hold of a copy head to the OCG here - www.facebook.com/groups/oasiscollectorsgroup/*edit - the link to the group seems to be broken for me, does it work for anyone else?

Yeah I know, but it's weird cause every time I search for the group it doesn't show up for me and every time I follow a direct link it says that this content isn't available. Not sure if that means I've been blocked from joining that group for some reason? It wouldn't make sense cause I barely use facebook anyway

Is there any way we could collectively look into getting hold of this tape?

That's a surprise! It's easy to see why McGee thought they weren't going to make it with this version, the mix is shocking! The drums are way too low in the mix and it really shows the most on Bring It On Down (frankly it's an insult to the song).
You can hear the parts that were kept for the album version like on Digsy's Dinner so that's really cool!

Noel is hammering it during the end section / outro of Columbia! Absolutely brilliant!

I love the version of Live Forever, it sounds pretty much like the album version but without the brickwalling

My one niggle is not having the outro vocals (I don't know, I don't care, all I know is you can take me there etc.) on Slide Away. Other than that I love it.
Columbia is epic - less formal than the final version, closer to the spirit of the demo.

Noel is hammering it during the end section / outro of Columbia! Absolutely brilliant! Yeah. Remember when Noel use to do endless guitar solos? Especially live from 1994-1998. Miss that version of Noel. When he was doing guitar hero work.
