I was rummaging through the Internet yesterday and stumbled upon this tweet reply: I believe that this is a custom CD made from a transfer of the rough mixes from Eden Studios of the Sawmill recording sessions for Definitely Maybe. David Huggins asked Anjuli Dutt about it back in 2014: source: www.oasis-recordinginfo.co.uk/?page_id=1850 / davidjay I have a few questions for the forum regarding this. Does anyone happen to know this collector/can confirm that it is in fact the tape referenced above? While I'm sure that we would all love to hear it (especially the "I am the Walrus" recording), I am also interested in preserving the history of it. I'm curious if anyone knows the full track list of what is on the tape/CD and/or if there was a date written down on it to help pin-point when the mixing session took place at Eden Studios. Paging the usual characters: joakim guigsysEstring The Crimson Rambler . Thanks in advance for any/all help.

oasisunited The Eden Studio mixes were around March 1994 as referenced in Uncut's "Definitely Maybe 20 Years On" piece- which coincides with p222-23 of "Getting High The Adventures of Oasis (Hewitt)" where he refers to early 1994 and the band in Eden Studios, Chiswick opposite Noel's flat before going to Cornwall with the album being unsuccessfully mixed initially in Chiswick. This thread with answers provided by davidjay gives more insight into the "I Am the Walrus" recording- I Am the Walrus studio version? thread and also contains this image of of Eden Studios mixes cassette- Beyond that for that actual CD it might be the obvious answer but have you tried contacting the collector via Twitter?

Thanks, as always, for the information! I do believe that is the tape that has been copied to that CD and the one that is mentioned in the interview that I quoted.

I came across this post a few days ago so joined the forum , I own the cd in question I can confirm it is a complete copy of the Eden studios ruff mix tape , I owned the tape for a while about six years ago but unfortunately due to a personal situation had to sell it along with my whole collection, fortunately I had it professionally transferred on to cd before I parted with it , any questions don’t hesitate to reply, cheers.

The original tape wouldn't have happened to have dates on indicating when the mixing session at Eden Studios took place, would it? My best guess would be for some time in March/April 1994. Any additional information would be greatly appreciated!

I can tell you The I am the walrus track is slightly different from the live version and is also longer it was one of the main reasons I bought the original tape in the first place

I can tell you The I am the walrus track is slightly different from the live version and is also longer it was one of the main reasons I bought the original tape in the first place If I can ask please, in your opinion would you say the studio version is superior to the live one we got, or can you realistically see why they tackled it again? I assume Liam's voice on it still isn't quite 'there' yet? Thank you for telling us a little bit more about it, it's fascinating to find out anything about unreleased versions.

Personally I prefer the live version , the studio version is a bit to busy for me they over done it with guitars but it’s still fascinating to listen to to be honest I haven’t played it for a few years I’ll have to give it a go see what I make of it now

OMG, OMG , OMG I take back everything I said , this is incredible, I think I’ve matured as a fan I just worked out I haven’t play that cd for over five years, I’ve just been through it and it’s actually far better than I remembered, it sounds raw , it doesn’t have the same weight as the finish versions not as loud or as punchy but quite incredible, Liam’s vocals are not quite there yet but on most tracks apart from slide away he’s nearly there , I’ve always thought that Liam’s vocals on the finished version of slide away was his greatest moment but on here he’s struggling, Digsys diner is exactly the same as the finished article , I think they used that on the album , I am the walrus is actually very very good , Liam’s vocal is really quite impressive, guitars bang on I actually really like it has a different feel than the live version,

i will never understand how one can own music, that only that particular person can listen to, and then tell everyone about it on the internet. what's the point? just share it. music is to be shared. there's no point in music, that no one can listen to, but only one individual. it's ueseless.

You could just upload the one song to a temporary file sharing site - of course no one's forcing you to do it and I'd never claim otherwise but it'd be amazing to hear such a rare recording

I’m very fortunate to own that cd but that’s all I own I don’t own it’s content, the original tape is stored away in a collection and will probably not be seen for years , I get it I really do I’m a massive fan myself, if there was a way of sharing this with everyone without breaking some kind of copyright I would but I’m not sure if that’s possible if someone can come with an alternative then let me know
