It will be shite. All the fucking idiots and celebrities will get the tickets while fans like us lot miss out It will be full of drunken wankers not listening to the music until they hear Wonderwall / DLBIA, and for those few minutes they'll be the biggest fans in the world. Absolute pricks, there's enough of those at gigs now let alone in an Oasis reunion But if they do pull this gig off I think all mobile phones should be banned You mean you don’t want piss lobbed in your general direction? Strange behavior, indeed.

A one-off reunion show would have no point. Either Liam & Noel reconcile & decide to reform the band for real, or they're still at each other's throats & the spirit isn't there, then a one-off gig would tarnish the band's legacy. Liam & Noel could both do big solo gigs if they want to raise money for the NHS.

I have absolutely no wish to see a reunion tbh.
The brothers don't need it. We don't need it.
The world needs a new Oasis. Not the old one dredging up.

I was assuming it would be done as a live stream and not an actual concert with a crowd? 👀😷

Well the impression I had was a proper gig, seeing as he said AFTER this virus has gone

Reuniting as Oasis for charity? Fuck that. Reuniting as two solo performers combining their acts for a night for charity? Onboard.
I just don't want to see the Oasis name used in such a way. It'd be like that relative who never answers your calls until they learn of some tragedy that strikes and then they call you just so they don't feel completely selfish and can pat themselves on the back. But as soon as you're recovered, you don't hear from them again for ages if at all.

Having thought of it, while I don't fancy and Oasis reunion at all, I'd be very much down for a charity gig where both of them perform a few of their own songs with their respective bands and then join each other on the stage at the end to play a few Oasis classics. But that would of course mean that they would be on good terms with each other, which is near impossible at this point. But one can dream, right? I mean, what else have we got to do?!

Let Chris Martin take a charge of it.
Noel and Liam can do it on their own. Oasis are done.

So were Pink Floyd until they weren't, with pigs flying (pun intended!) at Live 8. And they had sued each other and bickered for 20 years. So were the Stone Roses, who had a lead guitarist making artwork stating they wouldn't desecrate their memory until.. it changed. So were Guns & Roses, who had a singer saying he wouldn't reunite with his guitarist 'in this lifetime' until.. he did. So were the Eagles whose singer said they wouldn't reunite until hell froze over.. until they did, and they released an album called.. 'Hell Freezes Over'. Everything is done until it isn't!

One of the few reunions that actually maintained the dignity of the band was Deep Purple in the 80s. Only 11 years had passed since the split of that line up so they were still young enough and able enough to pull off their old music while still making respectable new stuff as well.
Most bands when they get together are just a pale shadow of what they were in their glory years.
Even The Beatles would have been crap in the 80s. Their untouchable status as gods has remained precisely because they never reunited. Lennon's untouchable status is because he died before he got the chance to get the 80s bug like everyone else. Double Fantasy and Milk And Honey have good material on them but you can see the signs of what might have come on songs like Every Man Has A Woman Who Loves Him or Forgive Me My Little Flower Princess.
Every other 60s band that made music in the 80s have it regarded as their worst (Stones, Who, Kinks etc). The Beatles would have been no exception.

and all of those bands shouldve stayed split... Agree to disagree! obviously...im wondering what you think made their comebacks worth it? were any of them as good as they were? or release anything note-worthy?
its kinda like 'the who' and 'the stones' still touring. its more sad than anything else... 'all rock & rollers over the age of 50 look stupid and should retire' - grace slick.

I said Yes. Liam's voice is better then it was at the last Oasis tour + it'd be great to see the brothers onstage together after all these years. Don't think it's gonna happen soon though.

Let’s face it, an Oasis reunion would be NGHFB with Liam. Bonehead involved too.
I canna see Guigs, Tony and Alan wanting to be involved unfortunately unless Noel would eat some humble pie and ask them to be involved - let’s face it that will never happen due to his massive ego.

Tbh I’d prefer a Noel-less oasis reunion gig to avoid all the drama. I know for many oasis fans it’s pointless but not for me. There were oasis gigs w/o Liam, there were oasis gigs w/o Noel, so why not. I want to see Liam and Andy on the same stage stage, plus Bonehead, Tony Mccarroll for a few DM songs, drummer#6765 for other songs, maybe John Squire or another great guitarist

I can't think of anything worse than attaching the comeback of one of the world's most iconic and joyous bands with a global virus pandemic. Given Nigel's posting and thread starting history, I imagine this was his response to that-

No, definitely not and there's no need for Oasis to reunite what so ever.

Changing my answer to a definitive NO.

Call me too optimistic but I'm in the camp of if they ever get back together, they need to be all in, i.e. new albums and actual tours, not a one-time gig. Andy Bell's Ride is a great example of what I would want. They have reunited, played gigs, and have released two albums. Obviously it doesn't look like Oasis will reunite, and also the tension between them probably runs much deeper than that of the members of Ride, but still, anything is possible.
