As far as I’m concerned there aren’t any demos available on the internet from the DOYS sessions. Why?

As far as I’m concerned there aren’t any demos available on the internet from the DOYS sessions. Why? Both I’m Outta Time and Falling Down demos were officially released. There is also the 5 leaked Gem demos from 2007 just prior to them recording the album and there is a demo / session version of Man of Misery from Oasis too which was used on a Pretty Green advert so that’s at least 8 from that era.

Yeah, actually, now that you mention them, I remember those two demos. I just really wish we had some demos of the second part of the album as I love it and would be interested to hear how those songs sounded initially. Also, was Man of Misery ever released on some kind of promotional 7’’ in 2009 or am I just remembering something else?

The version we have came from two separate videos which was edited together by @chrisr back on the old The Masterplan Forum I think. It was released by Beady Eye as a b-side on a 7” and as a digital download.

It's been a while since I saw the DOYS documentary, but I remember Noel said they recorded a lot of demos with Kasabian because they both were recording albums in the same studio or something similar.
In fact, if I remember correctly, the guys from Kasabian found a Soldier On demo on a computer in the studio and loved it so much that they convinced Oasis to record it for the album.

What about the alternative versions of The Turning and Waiting For The Rapture? There's also a I'm Outta Time demo/early mix

It was members of The Coral that found Solder On while going through tracks on the studio computer. I believe that Noel mentions this in the DOYS documentary that came out with the album.

There's probably loads of material we have not heard since Noel was recording a lot on his own and Liam recorded demos with Gem and Andy. A nice boxset would have been welcomed last year, really. Now i guess we'll have to wait another ten years.

There's also a I'm Outta Time demo/early mix The alternative versions of The Turning and Waiting For The Rapture were recorded after the album was completed at Paul Stacey’s studio. Ain't got nothing is up on youtube as a demo. That’s from the Don’t Believe The Truth sessions along with Stop The Clocks, Record Machine and the Liam sung Lord Don’t Slow Me Down.

Thanks a lot! So that's the reason it sounds quite dodgy, which is a shame because I like Liam's vocals on it. Was the recording of Man of Misery the only time Liam's been in the studio in 2009?

DBTT sessions, it was the best of times, it was the worst of times.... Likely the last time Liam and Noel were on truly good terms with each other during the album creation process, even during the early promotion of it, you could see they were on the same page. Which makes it more of a shame the entire mess in the creative process of that album. Some good tunes still came out, but could and should have been much more.

I remember being so excited in the winter of 2003. A new album produced by Death In Vegas and out by June 2004 for Glastonbury. Awesome!

Specially when you consider Liam worked with them, and Scorpio Rising is mega. Imagine DBTT following the same type of sound.

In my head it’s their best album but the reality is Noel didn’t have the songs during this period. At least not ones that would work with DIV. I also don’t think Noel was ready to listen to other people’s creative ideas. DIV are not yes men.

To think that it was Liam's idea to work with DIV, bold move from our kid, Noel even accepted, too bad he didn't have the songs, as he once said his songs weren't that great and too songy.

I was never sure if the demo we have from joakim is from the HFB sessions or DOYS. I lean HFB. Maybe Jim knows more.
