The lead single for the album got sent out to local radio pluggers earlier this week, a release date of 4 February was mentioned. Well, I didn't say 1 word too little or too much haha. From what I got told it's his most poppy single to date, and nothing like the lead singles from album 1 and 2. Commercial, a song BBC Radio 2 would gladly add to its playlist, but still very LG. Keep in mind I never trust on someone else's judgement until I've heard it myself, but there we go. You did actually nail it on the head with the date.

Not surprisingly, Liam is saying RnR (as opposed to poppy).

I know this is something only the ‘fans’ really care about but I wish Liam would get a god damn haircut. Looks a million times better with the short hair

That photo. For years I've considered Liam the most attractive man alive, but that photo/outfit/haircut may have squashed my Liam-crush with a single photo.

Thanks for the only inside info so far. The word "poppy" makes me a bit nervous but it's also something different people define very differently so we shall see .... Well Liam is a Pop artist now innit ? His last record was half that, so no surprises here. Might as well go down that route than pseudo rock n roll to be honest, at least we'll get what Liam really is these days. One of Us was of the highlights of the last record. Shockwave wasn't.

Might as well go down that route than pseudo rock n roll to be honest, at least we'll get what Liam really is these days. One of Us was of the highlights of the last record. Shockwave wasn't. Well the definition of these things -- rock and roll, "pseudo rock and roll," pop and I'll add bubble gum at the far end -- is mostly in the ears (and mind) of the beholder. And it's the sum of the parts as well ... not just the sound and instrumentation but the lyrics and attitude that can move a song from one category to the other. There's a certain very poppy sound -- not One of Us which I'd call a ballad -- that Liam has toyed with a few times that's not really my bag so that's why that description from a radio person makes me a little nervous. But it's really based on nothing but my imagination. When we hear the song (maybe in a matter of days) we can say how we define it.

I hope it's a rock single that finds its pop relevance, such as Roadhouse Blues for the Doors, Come Together for the Beatles or Sweet Child O 'Mine for Guns N' Roses. Liam has placed some soft anthems in mass culture, now what we need is to place his single rock as mass culture.
As for his long hair, on the other hand, I find that if he made them more similar to those of 1999-2000 he would look much better. Unfortunately, his long post-2000 cuts don't make him look cool. My opinion is that you should only wear them in two ways at 50: Or, if you really want, a long cut in the style of 1999-2000 or a short cut like in 2017. Enough.

It’s a little motownish to me. I agree though it’s just labels rock n roll can be anything and so can pop. Wait and see, hope Liam had a little to do with it (songwriting I mean) though 🤣😝 Let’s not forget he also has Better Days on this record which may or may not be stolen from a friend of mine. HYPE!

I won't post a link to it because its the Sun, but that Simon Boyle has some fucking nerve. I know its nothing new for a Sun journalist to have zero integrity but he's writing that he's a "lifelong Oasis fan" and giving Liam all kinds of superlatives. This is a man who for the last couple of years has (alongside Dan Wootton) tried to ruin Liam with the total non-story of the drunken video with Debbie. Literally any article of the past couple of years he's tried to shoehorn it in somewhere and he even went as far as to say he will "never stop reminding everyone" about it. Now he's realised it's gone nowhere he's a lifelong fan. Unbelievable. I wouldn't call what he did a 'non-story' but I get your point.

Ballad: a slower tempo song often telling a story of love and loss. Seems to tick all those boxes ... But yeah, musically it has that gospel tinge (which is a nice mix with Liam's voice, and I think Wyatt gets how that kind of contrast can work.) Think Liam at one time said Better Days was the lead single -- maybe it was renamed to avoid copyright infringement

So that's a fast ballad, or a slow fast track. Liam can change the lyrics, but he can"t change the melody on Better Days, it was too good to lose.

Performing at The Brits is great exposure for the single. Should do well off the back of that.

No shot. You release the song and video same day and time most likely. Defo or no point these days. People will just rip the audio from YouTube prior to official release if video before airplay.
