after tons of plays 1) More Power: 8 2) Diamond in the Dark: 10 (Rockfield) 3) Don’t Go Halfway: 3 4) C’mon You Know: 7 5) Too Good for Giving Up: 9 6) It Was Not Meant to Be: 6 7) Everything’s Electric: 9 8) World’s in Need: 7 9) Moscow Rules: 6 (great song but the atmosphere is too gloomy for my taste) 10) I’m Free: 7 11) Better Days: 6 12) Oh Sweet Children: 6 13) The Joker: 7 14) Wave: 7 The sound quality in the production is very poor. Played live in the studio (Like at Rockfield) it would probably have turned out to be a masterpiece. Anyway I tried to rate the songs leaving out the quality of the sounds on the record that I don't like I agree with you about the shoddy sound quality - at first I thought I had a bad copy.

Bless You is such a treat. I love how this funky bass-heavy sound goes with Liam's voice. I'd be glad if he explores these sort of sounds in the future.

Now I’ve had time to digest it all. Songs out of 5 and no half point smeg.
1) More Power: 4 Lovely intro track
2) Diamond in the Dark: 4 Love the vibe here
3) Don’t Go Halfway: 2 A bit meh.
4) C’mon You Know: 4 Really grown on me.
5) Too Good for Giving Up: 3 Feel like it should be 4 or 5 but his voice grates on me a little here for some reason. Much prefer Once and probably even Misunderstood from last album that are similar songs.
6) It Was Not Meant to Be: 3 A little breather song. Not too bad.
7) Everything’s Electric: 4 Another grower.
8) World’s in Need: 4 One of my faves. Can’t quite give it the full marks just yet.
9) Moscow Rules: 3 Probably harsh on the grade here as it’s growing on me.
10) I’m Free: 2 Not feeling it just yet.
11) Better Days: 4 Warm song.
12) Oh Sweet Children: 2 Not feeling it just yet.
13) The Joker: 4 Love it. Maybe a full marker, time will tell. Turn that bloody light on.
14) Wave: 4 A bit diff but I rather enjoy it.
All in all, a decent album. I do prefer the first two at this present time though.

The title track has grown on me massively.
As I suspected, works a hell of a lot better as part of the album and not a standalone pre-album release.

I think the issue was it got mistaken for a full-on single, when it was meant to just be a bit of a teaser. If there’s any other song that sounds like a single its Too Good For Giving Up, but I suspect they wanted to emphasise the new direction so didn’t want to release a ballad.

I knew MORE POWER was gonna be a great song. The name alone is pretty outstanding. But it's an all-timer. Miles ahead of the rest of the album. Original & developed. Top tier.
Oh and Wave is still complete FILTH

"More Power" is possibly the greatest song of Liam's solo career.
I don't really care for the rest of the album, by the time it gets midway through I'm bored of it.
The production/sound quality is a bit of a mixed bag. It's muddy sounding, especially the kick drums.
I wish they would stop using the same synthetic-sounding effects on Liam's vocal. However his voice sounds great on "Too Good For Giving Up".
I much preferred the previous 2 albums, especially As You Were.

Got the album now and I have to say I'm loving it, a very good album overall and it sounds modern, not perfect sure but kudos for Liam cos he is really pushing himself out of the Oasis sound confort zone. I didn't like some of the the singles released before the album but they all grew on me, at the moment I'm liking the album more than WMWN.

Don't know what to think about this one. On one hand, it sounds like a bunch of songs in a shuffle playlist rather than a cohesive album. Certain songs are drastically different from each other, which songs with different tones are typical on any album, but you got your Radio X friendly tunes like Better Days and Too Good for Giving Up, then you have Moscow Rules and I'm Free that doesn't fit whatsoever with the majority of the album. Abit tracklist housecleaning should've been done before release.
(Haven't done this in a minute, but I'll try if anyone cares for my useless opinion)
The Best
More Power - Clear Stones influence with the obligatory Lennonisms, fun retro-modern fused pop song to start the album.
C'mon You Know - Loved this one when it first released, sounds like a BE outtake, albeit with better Liam vocals than his 2013 nasal style.
Better Days - Clearly crafted for radio play, yet still is a knockout track. Has a timeless late 90s hit alt. rock sound throughout. Great summer tune.
The Good
Diamond In the Dark - Currently addicted to this one. Moody production and clever lyrics. A bit basic in the end I feel.
World's In Need - Another track that could've been on BE as well. Awesome string arrangement.
The Joker - Shocked this was a bonus track. Fun tune and you can hear Liam was really into the vocal on it.
The Meh
Too Good For Giving Up - While I appreciate the sentiment, I just can't shake off the For What It's Worth vibes on this one. Good message but I loathe these type of sickly sweet platitude-ridden generic production songs. Maybe the years of listening to Richard's monotonous strings have traumatized me to this kind of music.
Don't Go Halfway - Really liked the "Fuckin in the Bushes" style of the arrangement, but still ends up being painfully generic.
Everything's Electric - Never cared for this one, very generic lead single like Shockwave was.
Moscow Rules - Really doesn't fit with the rest of the songs in any fashion. Should've been the bonus track over The Joker. It's a solid track nonetheless.
Not For Me Mate
It Was Not Meant To Be - Different Gear, Still Speeding Vietnam flashbacks.
I'm Free - I have no words for this one, to be honest.
Oh Sweet Children - Really atrocious lyrics, tries to go for that same sappy platitude trope as "Too Good..." but misses the mark somehow worse. Once again, bizarre choice for the closing song, makes the whole album feel stitched together.
Wave - Don't see the appeal of this one that many have.
Overall, if I had to be completely honest, Why Me Why Not had higher highs, like Alright Now, One of Us, The River, Meadow, etc. Liam definitely went for a more varied sound this time, but it all comes out a bit too incoherent. While there's songs I rarely listen to from his first two albums, this one has a few legitimate stinkers.

The title track has grown on me massively. As I suspected, works a hell of a lot better as part of the album and not a standalone pre-album release. As a single, the lacklustre impression the song gave was accurate. It only sounds better on the album as it's been thrown in among some substandard material.

Are people here really hating on "Oh Sweet Children"? Yeah- the verses aren't amazing, and the song is too short, but how can you dislike a song with guitars that sound like THAT!?
