I don't want to talk shit about Liam, obviously this is a great performance but isn't there a bit of autotune? Go to 1:55 on the Champagne Supernova video and listen closely to the "sky" in the line "In a champagne supernova in the sky", it sounds like it's autotuned. I wouldn't bet my life on it but I wouldn't be surprised. There's a reason why Liam is always great on record and mostly shit live. He doesn't have the voice anymore. I believe he's been getting help on record since SOTSOG at least. But that being said, if you listen to Beady Eye's acoustic sets after the release of BE, he's still able to do it once in a while so maybe it wasn't doctored in this case (unlike the ridiculous UN-live versions at Air Studio). Also, you can definitely see how Liam's voice evolves in a tour. At the beginning he sounds great and in the middle Kermit comes back. He's at the start now so he sings less than on a proper world tour, maybe he's at the good stage now.

It's true that the last two years have been way better than in the past as far as Kermit is concerned. But if you compare Wall of Glass for example with the live recording, he's not able to reach the higher notes. He lowered the tuning for For What's It Worth which was clearly autotuned on the record. It would be naive to think he doesn't get any help. He doesn't use that during his own concerts though that's for sure. That said I'm absolutely not knocking him for it. It's widely used and Liam's not a lesser performer for it.

Two of the best vocal performance of his career! I love it!!! Easily. When people says "one of his best performances ever", no one's saying this performance is better than what he did in the 90s. We are all considering the reality of his voice in the last 15 years and praising its recovery, which no one here expected. If you're looking to the entire Liam Gallagher's career, the Piano Sessions is for sure one of the highlights. Such an incredible and surprising point of his life, even bigger if we remember what we used to comment about his voice 5 years ago.

I really dont' care if there's autotune, I loved the performance.
I'd wish he'd sing the chorus holding the notes a bit like:
But you and IIII, we live and dieeeeeeeeeeeee The world's still spinning 'round, we don't know whyyyyyyyyy"
But yeah, I think I'm gonna listen to this bootleg a lot while waiting for the album.

Only just managed to catch up with this session.
Still cannot believe he’s gone from the abyss of 2015/16 to this.
Such an enchanting performance. Magical!!!
If I’m dreaming, please don’t wake me up. ☺️

He sang better than the 97 performance at the air studios, better than some live vocals of 1998. This Liam performance at BBC Piano Session is one of the best Liam performance since 1994. And his vocal timbre is even more beautiful now than in the early years. no doubt!

it seems that you forgot the last 2 years. there's no "autotune" in this live performance btw That Absolute Radio Bethnal Green radio broadcast a couple of years ago was definitely autotuned, so there's precedent for this kind of thing.

It’s certainly had melodyne treatment I work with Melodyne every day and can hear the artifacts a mile off. It’s pretty standard these days but it certainly can’t polish a turd in a very stripped back sound like this, so I’d say the vocals were pretty good regardless It's there, but it's at least more subtle than that Bethnel Green gig from a couple of years ago. Just a little sweetening here and there is all.

Yeah pitch correction or whatever it's called But i don't remember other times No "autotune" in the piano session btw Why are you so sure? Like I said, listen to the "sky" at about 1:55, the pitch change that makes it go "sky-y" really sound like there is autotune or another pitch-correcting program. I even slowed that bit down on Youtube to 0.75 speed, and the change is too sudden to be natural. I'm not criticizing him for using it, it's still a great performance from him. I've read the same on a YouTube comment and still can't notice it. I'm not saying you're wrong, maybe my ears aren't as trained as yours.

I don't hear any autotune or pitch correction. If they did it anywhere it would have been nice in that BBC2 thing he did when he played Rocking Chair. It was pretty obvious with the Bethnal Green gig.

It’s a nice song, but that bridge does not belong there.

Thinking there's been some tuning software or whatever used now ruins this performance for me really. And I'm that kind of guy they call a fanboy and parka monkeys etc. never have a bad word about him really but it's just too much for me. It's sad really - if it's true and for me it's quite clear at some parts. It's not that obvious "as it was" in one or 2 performances on youtube last year.
But I love Liam and at the start of this whole solo thing and big gigs (Finsbury and Old Trafford) 2018 were just brilliant, he don't have to be pitch-pefect to be my favourite rockstar and I hate when those producers and engineers do what they do.
I'm happy to go see him live soon and however it is I'll love it as long as it's that unique Liam thing.

Very enjoyable- even if it's tuned he does better out of his comfort zone.

I love Liam Gallagher the rock 'n' roll star, but I really wish he'd do more of this and less of the angry snarling stuff. He said himself in Beady Eye that his vocals suffered because he was trying to shout over walls of guitars in Oasis. The acoustic stuff where he actually attempts to sing is fantastic

Listening to the CS performance again I really like what the cello player did. A nice blend of the string/e-bow parts with Noel's lead guitar. 10/10 all round.
Is she Liam's touring cello player? I remember seeing someone playing cello at Finsbury Park
