There is no way Brendan Rodgers would leave Leicester (a club on the up) for Arsenal (a club on the way down) right now. He’d be stupid to do so and has said as much. Maybe he’d take the Arsenal job in a few years time once he has felt he has done all he can do at Leicester.

Fourth is essential this year - by that, I mean we must make sure we finish at least fourth from bottom....

I was commenting on the reason Arsenal were distancing them from his comments and the fact they felt like they even needed to make a comment about it.

Football clubs are supposed to be proud representatives of their community, that’s what football clubs were established for back in the late 1800s. Politics is rooted in the sport and activism is key to football clubs identity, so if a club is basically apologising for a serious human rights issue - probably because it fears the ‘brand’ will suffer in China - then the owners need to get the fuck out of the club. But it’s endemic of all football owners now where there’s a lack of any morality. But it’s no surprise. The last number of years, everyone knows that the Arsenal board are just crass and materialistic leeches. No wonder why the club is in such a mess.

not even the NBA handled that so poorly when the owner of the rockets made that statement regarding hongkong. i dont like özil because he is obviously a hypocrite (you know he hangs out with his pal erdogan) but nothing he said was so out of line for arsenal to comment.

Positives for Arsenal fans: Young players look good Negatives for Arsenal fans: You're an Arsenal fan

i think football clubs were established to play football? not to represent some sentiment that a community feels. a community is diverse with many different ways of looking at things, so a club can only represent a certain portion of its town.
just my opinions obviously.

have you read arsenals statement? let me rephrase it "hello im arsenal and i get a lot of money from china, therefore i need to protect myself from any repercussions and distance myself from özil. china is a great country, no muslim was harmed. ever. i promise."

Id have taken Ancelotti for the rest of the season, and then hire our long term manager in the summer.
But now looks like Everton have Ancelotti.
You can’t make up how incompetent our board are.

Let’s be honest - Arteta wanted to wait to be our manager because it would be a difficult act following Wenger. However, Arteta now follows Emery, which will be piss easy. 😂
If Mikel can strategize like that on the pitch, I foresee tons of success under his management.

I reckon he’ll no be any better than Arsenal’s last manager. He’s Pep’s bibs and cones man.

Come on, a three time European Cup winner in Ancelotti is not going to take the job until the end of the season. He’d take that as an insult. I don’t think there’s any obvious manager and the market is pretty thin. But from a purely results perspective, they could do no worse than Simeone.

Excuse me, I mixed him up with Guus Hiddink - who did serve two interim spells with Chelsea. Carlo was also at Chelsea, which is where the mixup come from. As you were.

Impressive press conference.
But Emery was also impressive initially. I’ll back Arteta until the moment I don’t - and I think that’s fair.

Arsenal 1-2 Chelsea
Well that loss especially hurt. Got done by two individual errors - Leno and Mustafi. But otherwise, I was encouraged by the fight. Real missed opportunity, though.

It’ll be interesting to see if Arteta keeps the asinine concept of cup Goalkeepers for the FA Cup this Monday. I sure as hell hope not, but I think he will. I also suspect it’s written into full GKs contracts. But it winds me the fuck up.
Good win against Utd at the weekend. Strange league season for most so far.....

Chelsea 2-2 Arsenal
BELLERINNNNNNN!!!!! JUST WENT CRAZY!!! 2-2!!! UP THE ARSENAL!!
10 men Arsenal had to come back twice to draw with Chelsea. Very rarely this season, but today I’m 110% proud of the lads! Great determination today.

I I just went around celebrating the winner screaming in hysterics around my apartment.
When I calmed down, I realized Aubameyang missed. I feel like a right mug.
