more interesting to listen to Meighan's solo album - he stated it'll release this year saying he writes tunes by himself FOR REAL? NOW I'M HYPED yep, there were some interviews with Tomas earlier this year where he said he's writing songs for solo album at that moment, that's why Kasabian have a break now and Serge is making cosmic pop for himself

Actually there are no plans for releasing those songs,he said he's just writing. But he didn't pull apart the idea of releasing them as a solo career. Hopefully he will, because Tom > Serge

Hopefully he will, because Tom > Serge I listened to some BBC Leicester Radio podcasts where Tom appeared often during these months... he exactly mentioned possible solo release. But yeah, I checked last interview he had at As It Was premiere and Tom said 'I wrote some but Kasabian is my soul' and things like that. Anyway I hope that this man will release some, he mentioned it very much last year and this too

Nobody Else has grown on me like too much. Listened to it high on pills and it was absolutely beautiful. Probably the song of my summer. Favourites hasn't though, shit track. And The Youngest Gary it's alright (specially the 2nd half). Looking forward to listen to the record on August 30th to see if there are any gem hidden.

I'm enjoying these new tunes from Serge, pretty decent stuff.
Nobody Else is such an amazing song.

I think the latest Kasabian album was their most consistent yet. Yeah, all songs are equally shit.

Listened to the album a couple times now. I must say I was expecting less. I love track by track reviews and I'm at work so obviously I got nothing better to do.
Meanwhile...In Genova: A cinematic opener. Got WRPLA vibes with the strings and that. A little cool detail I have witnesed is that the album starts with the exact same 2 notes that ends it. Its kind of an intro for the ending song which I'll talk about later, but its a nice way of starting this journey. 7/10
Lockdown: Honestly the couple of first songs go off really slowly. Little by little the album drags you in with its sounds, but this song is a bit of a meh. It has a cool groove but nothing else really. A couple of melodies in the tune makes me give it a 6/10
((trance)): We already heard this one before it came out. Got some 48:13 vibes and even though I really like the chorus and the vibe overall,at this point the record starts to got me wondering where the fuck is taking us as listeners. The third song on the album and its another mid tempo/slowish night disco track. As I said, the chorus is a nice one so 7/10
The Wu: Before this one came out I was hoping for something with a little bit more of energy came out and The Wu is what I was expecting. Really fun track with an interesting production. Its an up beat hip hop/electronic song with a bridge that gotta sound really great live. 7'5/10
Soldiers 00018: Another song that got me scratching my head. I must say at this point of the record you can appreciate that there's a lot of variation in melody terms. Soldiers build up slowly but it pays off really good when the tune unwinds. It has a little flute and some 'Woooohooos' at the ending that makes it a nice track and a good way to finish the first half of the record. I can see people who don't really like Kasabian give up the record at this point. But I promise that after this song everything goes up. 6'5/10
Meanwhile...At The Welcome Break: Weakest tune of the record but its really short so it doesn't really make a difference. It has slowthai as a featuring but I don't know where he is. Is a really weird song. Starts of with acoustic sounds and some mumbled verses and finishes with a beautiful orchestal string section. 3/10
Nobody Else: Second single starts the second half of the album and now is where things go up. Easily the best song on the record with the closer. The hook is beautiful and it screams summer. The bridge and the final chorus is one the best pieces of music that Pizzorno has come up with in years. What an absolute gem of a tune. 9/10
Favourites ft. Little Simz: Little Simz destroyed a Gorillaz song and she's back to try to do it in a Serge one. But in its defense I must admit that flows really really well in the record. It started dragging you down a bit but the energy on this track is uplifting. Seriously, when it came out I thought it was horrendous but flows really well. 7/10
Fvng Fv: A little interlude before the most dense track of the record. It takes 1 minute to listen to this one and its just some arpeggios on an acoustic guitar. It kinda makes sense before The Youngest Gary but I think that a record that has an intro and 9 songs doesn't really need interludes. 4/10
The Youngest Gary: This one is experimental as fuck but it fits really great in the second half of the album. The first part of the song is the only bit of the album where a guitar takes protagonism. Those turkish choruses ruin the mood a bit and it sounds kinda goofy. But oh shit the second half of the song. It takes it to another place. Is like Gorillaz meet Daft Punk. Groovy bass line that carries the song to its end. 8/10
Meanwhile...In The Silent Nowhere: We got to the end of the record and the closer makes everything more cohesive. Its one of the most complicated structures Serge has ever done. It starts with the ending of Meanwhile In Genova and goes to a hip-hop drum fill with some cool Maca chord progression. But then goes into a transition that sounds like Muse. Seriously, Muse. Flows really nicely into the final bit that is a catharsis of strings and stadium chants. Little bit of The Last Shadow Puppets arrangements and the Muse stadium feels. Cinematic as Pizzorno has ever get. One of the best songs on the record and one of the most quality pieces of music he has come since West Ryder era. 9/10
OVERALL: I wish that the album would've started with more up-beat songs. Honestly it slowly wraps you and it finishes being a good listen. Experimental at times, filler at times and got some flashes of brilliance. Its a nice record that I'll be coming back to from time to time. I would rate it as a 7/10 in the first 3 listens. Maybe its a grower, maybe its not. But that is my opinnion! Cheers!

I wrote a long review for this but it's in italian, still I gave it a 7.25/10 Not a masterpiece in any way, but very enjoyable It sounds more energetic and free and less tired and cliched than Kasabian's last two records, I think Serge really needed this as a songwriter

I finally checked out this album. Not gonna lie, I was going to completely blow it off because I'm just so sick of Kasabian and their act. I'm surprised to be writing that because 12-14 years ago I was a huge huge supporter seeing them multiple times between 2006 and 2011. Their bravado and quotes to the press have just turned me off really. The music never backed it up. Anyways, enough about that. If it weren't for seanrulesrh track by track review that peeked my interested, I'd never have listened. The album is a LOT better than what I was expecting. Normally it would be full of rock n roll cliches and lyrics. Didn't dig the first single at all (Favorites). Not sure it was his best foot forward. The standouts for me are: Trance - Should have been the first single. Nobody Else - Reminds me of Lonerism which then morphs into a Cut Copy song. Meanwhile... In the Silent Nowhere - A very cool spaghetti western closer. I also liked Lockdown.
