So who is everyone's favourite band that is still releasing albums? Slim pickings but for me I'll go Arctic Monkeys, closely followed by DMA's and Kasabian. I have put a poll of most of the bands that people on this forum are likely to enjoy

I think the title of this thread (and poll) and question asked in original message are two different things. Half the bands on that list released their debut LPs 13 years ago or more (21 years in QOTSA's case) so to call them "modern" or "current" is a little confusing. Bands from the 60's and 70's are still releasing albums to this day so are they included too?
The Pixies (1986-1993, 2004-present) are still releasing albums to this day and their recent releases are clearly not as good as what they released in their heyday but they remain my favourite ever band.
Future of the Left (2005-present) still release albums as strong as they've ever done so in that repect they are my favourite band still releasing albums.
Idles released their debut LP in 2017 and followed it up a year later. They are my favourite band I consider "modern" and "current".
I think phrasing the question around contemporary bands who released their debut LPs 2010 onwards (or at least most of their material) would be a much more interesting and thought provoking question about rock music in this soon to end decade.
Other modern bands I like or have some interest in: - Big Ups [Split in 2019] - Bully - Fat White Family - Flasher - Future Islands - Royal Blood - Shame - Sleaford Mods - Splashh [Split in 2018] - Superfood - Tame Impala
Solo (Rock/Alternative) Artists: - Courtney Barnett - Christian Fitness [Andrew Falkous] - Jack White* - Kurt Vile - St. Vincent - Ty Segall
*Jack's been around doing his thing for a while now but his solo career officially began when The White Stripes ended in 2011.

I picked The 1975, definitely my favourite band of the list above. Despite mixed opinion of them on here, I love their music and vibes, everything they do is bloody interesting (to me anyway), and their most recent album was a masterpiece. Plus I saw them years before they were famous in Glasgow once (2010 I believe as a support act), and have been hooked ever since. The Twilight Sad Mogwai Frightened Rabbit The Magnetic North Erland and The Carnival The National Out Lines A good few Scottish bands I see! I'll be seeing the Twilight Sad supporting The Cure in August, not really heard much of their stuff, any recommendations?

I wouldn't consider many of those bands modern. Car Seat Headrest are the best band who's released their debut this decade IMO, and if you're including 2000's bands then Arcade Fire, obviously.

Modern?
Some of those bands are already 10+ years old.

You won't disappoint if you go to see The Twilight Sads. They're great, great, great band. I would say listen to all of their albums, but I highly recommend their debut album "Fourteen Autumns and Fifteen Winters", "Nobody Wants To Be Here and Nobody Wants To Leave" and their new album "It Won/t Be Like This All The Time". Enjoy The Cure and the Sads!

CHVRCHES Alvvays Bad Suns The 1975 M83
CHVRCHES is a solid electronic band and something different than what you expect from modern electronic music. Their first two albums are awesome, and Love is Dead is good too.
Alvvays is a sublime indie rock/pop band with some very good songwriting and a swell mix of a pop, rock, dream pop/shoegaze. I love the song Saved By a Waif and think it's one of the best of the last five years, as well as the Antisocialites album.
Bad Suns is a band that doesn't get enough recognition for their solid rhythm section and good guitar work. It reminds me a bit of a young U2 and of '80s post-punk. The lead singer has a very distinct voice too.
The 1975 is good, but I won't go too crazy for them. They're still enjoyable and are a bright spot in music. I just wish they'd go for more guitar-prominent songs more often.
M83, I love Hurry Up, We're Dreaming and I'm slowly getting into their other works. They're a bit like CHVRCHES with how their works are electronic but in a different way and have some rock songs as well.
I thought about including HAIM, but they're too inconsistent at times and almost slip into the girl group territory to where I can't say they're one of my favorites. They have some good songs though (The Wire, My Song 5).

Really love DMA's and lately been listening to loads of proud Mary and the solo work that spun out of that band. I used to like kasabian but can only tolerate the 1st 3 albums all the rest are shit in my opinion bar a few songs

Arctic Monkeys Tame Impala Vampire Weekend Queens of the stone Age Royal blood The Coral Idles M83 Alvvays
That's it for me, maybe it's my old age but nothing new has really gripped. Love the Idles just for pure punk vibe they give off. Arctic Monkeys are by far my favorite band out there right now.

Meh I dabble with most on that list, but none of stellar.
Never liked QOTSA dating back to the 2000’s.
Didn’t know the Kooks are still around - I made it through their first two albums and then lost interest.
Have never heard of DMA, The Gang of Youths, or The Rubens - please tell me if any of these three are worth my time?
I do love The Wombats, so I’ll give them my vote. And I think Jamie T is worth a mention as well. And also BUSTED!!!!!
Edit: My vote goes to: Other (Busted).

Not terribly familiar with any of those bands listed apart from Arctic Monkeys (only heard their first 2 albums) and Wolf Alice, and I’ve liked the few songs I’ve heard. Namely “silk”
