Guessing this will be WBTM remix material Hopefully new material but there are two definite remixes from Richard Norris and The Reflex which have been completed and have not been released as yet. The Record Store Day list is released on the 28th of February so we should have a better idea this time next week. We all know that Noel still really cares about initial chart success and critics reception. The idea of a touring band album that potential thrusts the ladies of the band to front and center is something out of character for Noel and a risk. If I’m being cynical about it a way to avoid poor entry, sales and real critics takes is for a Record Store Day release. These are often fun and light hearted type releases. Noel could avoid any potential downside by going down this route and saying it’s a one off side project type thing. The timeline of this also lines up with the promised new material being played like only 3 weeks after RSD. Who knows. I’ve got enough Noel remixes to last two lifetimes. |

Noel said while doing press for MOON that the leftovers would be worked on for future Holmes projects. So assume some of it will get fleshed out during that period. |

As Lennon has said I think he was being tight and rather than doing b-sides this time round kept the tunes back for the next album. I recall from radio interviews at the time he had a decent amount of stuff partially finished, so hopefully we don’t have to wait too long until the next album. X So from the Lamacq interview we know he wants to work with Holmes again. And has three almost completed songs left over from the WBTM sessions, plus a handful more half finished ones. X |
