I've only noticed this recently, but the guitar chords that play at the start of Columbia are, in my opinion, quite similar to those at the start of the AC/DC hit Highway To Hell, just Columbia has the chords more spaced-out. I suppose I could be wrong, though. It could just be me though.
From the little Noel has spoken of the band, he seems to have more than a little respect for at least ex-frontman Brian Johnson.

Chordy guitar song in A sounds like another chordy guitar song in A. Shock horror.

Any combination of A,G, & D... quite possibly the most used chords in music.
I doubt Noel took any inspiration from AC/DC for this one.

It's like what Bonehead said in the DM dvd... something along the lines of if you play a D,A and E you've already written numerous songs that have already gone before.

That rhythm-guitar/bass riff in Put Yer Money Where Your Mouth Is resembles the riff in TNT a little bit. But that could be a coincidence, since they're both based on a fairly common progression.

He ripped it off that old dance tune didn't he? Axe Corner's Tortuga: Wow. So if The Real People are to be believed, Noel didn't actually write any of this song at all? And yet it was the first Oasis song to get radio play. Funny that.
