I'm not sure really - I don't think you could really pick anything from 1994 - 1997 as it was all a perfect storm and the crazy moments contributed to the success.
They lost their mojo big time between 98 - 2004 but similarly the DBTT comeback was massive, relatively speaking.
I suppose you could say releasing a half finished and half arsed follow up in DOYS? Not capitalising on the goodwill post-DBTT and Stop the Clocks? Booking a ridiculously long cash cow tour in 2008/09 with very few breaks in between?
I know that Liam and Noel's relationship was already strained by the start of that tour but you could argue as well that things might have been different had Noel not been attacked on stage at the start of the tour - in his victim statement he said he'd been in constant pain and fatigued throughout the tour which I imagined contributed towards his lack of tolerance of Liam's antics and the breakdown of their relationship. But then again that was pure chance, there's nothing they could have done to prevent that. Ifs and buts I suppose.

But then again that was pure chance, there's nothing they could have done to prevent that. Ifs and buts I suppose. Good points. Ive not really seen a big discussion on here about the vast contrast between everything in the band on the DBTT tour and DOYS. To my knowledge, its never been raised to either Gallagher in interview either. The DBTT era was so important to Oasis. It helped craft Noels image that he went on to have media wise (for better of worse you decide) and it gave the band a sort of elderly legend status looking over the Libertines, Kasabians and Arctic Monkeys at the time. But the dynamics in the band were there for all to see on LDSMD. Liam and Noel were getting along probably the best ive ever seen on camera. It was all looking like being set up for a great new era for the band and there was genuine intrigue and excitement for the direction they were taking. Then DOYS came. As much as i like the first half, the second half of the album was just like the end of the tour. Half arsed and unacceptable. And i cant help but think something massive happened between Liam and Noel around 2007 (rumours of a liam love child with one of sara's mates during this time) and since then its just never recovered.
