Did Noel ever give an explanation as to why hes stopped writing the long crazy guitar solo's like in Live Forever, Supersonic, outro to Slide Away, Morning Glory, D'You Know What I Mean etc.

Why stop? They were amazing

I liked the one on the end of the Stop The Clocks demo and he changed that too.

Any theory to it?

Okay, not many but I think the biggest difference is that 90's solos were kinda "anthemic"; you could even sing/shout the melody. Not often the case with their later stuff.
