It fits within the perfect theme of the album. Sure, it may be dreary at times but even that dreariness that is felt recalls the entire point of the track - a superb unintended coincidental consequence to be sure. It gets overshadowed not just by two-back-to-back Noel sung songs, but also by following the superior track that came before it (WDIAGW). It was like Noel had these two songs in his pocket and didn't know which one to go with, so he said sod that let's put both on the album. If Sunday Morning Call was a b-side on the SOTSOG album, I don't think it would be met with the indifference that Oasis fans currently feel. |
