"They tried to knock him down" THEY?! GIVE ME A BREAK! American in 'lack of comprehension of things going on outside America' shocker. The British press hated Liam for years. I'm American and I definitely hated Oasis when they were big in the 90's. I saw them as Beatle rip off artists.

Cinema is like £15 basic these days BUT actually some Vue cinema's are £5.99 for all showings of all screenings. Midnight premiers the lot! It's to entice punters into their usually smaller venues...they are all vip seats too.
There must be a set price for this showing and so assuming this is a catch in the T's&C's?

People loved to hate Liam - the press knew that. Liam was a dream for the press because a) he was easy to wind up (unfairly) and b) he was an idiot who did stupid stuff (multiple affairs, scraps etc). I love Liam. I wouldn't have it any other way. But... the press didn't hate him. But to the press, Liam's a story. Always has been and always will be. Sure, they knew what buttons to push, but there's no big conspiracy (now at least). Yeh, there's scummy papers like the Sun and Mail who live for the stuff, but Liam didn't help himself.

I meant the press loved the fact that people loved to hate Liam. The press don't 'hate' anyone. The press love a story. I should know, I work in the media (the sports side, and not tabloids, but still). Liam is a dream for a journalist. Even more so for a tabloid - or at least old Liam was. That's not hate, not at all.

so is this genuinely £16 a ticket for everyone? i'm confused at that pricing, if it was a fiver like every other cinema movie i'd take my whole family, why's it £16? Cause of the live performance after I guess? And it's a live stream? Also... since when are film tickets a fiver? Granted, last time I went to the cinema was to see the live stream of Supersonic in 2016, but that was like £10 or something? I don't think I've been to the cinema in about 12 years and it cost a fiver? Tbf the tickets at the vue for the cinema are usually £5 now for a typical film. Back on topic, that trailer looks so good and I cannot wait to watch on the 6th

Liam is a lovely man. I can tell through my brief meeting with him. Love to see how he's united with his daughter now.
I can't wait to watch this documentary. Some people has this tiny thing called charisma, some don't and Liam Gallagher is definitely one of those with it.

NME: "As It Was gives unprecedented on stage and backstage access to tell Gallagher’s story from the demise of Oasis through to the end of his successful headline tour for debut album ‘As You Were‘. The film is set to feature a new song called ‘Once’ from Gallagher’s upcoming second album."

I don't think anyone is suggesting that Liam Gallagher is martyr, just that the press have targeted him. Dan Wooton for example.

Well 'the press' is a very large entity isn't it. For example, you could say the more right leaning papers hate on Corbyn. It'd probably be a fair comment. Doesn't mean everyone who works for the Mail, for example, actually hates Corbyn. So saying 'the press hated' Liam is just fundamentally untrue. The guy is/was a superstar. He's a story. Some in the tabloid press knew how to wind him up. But it's not hate. He made them money because he sold papers. And I'm part of the wider sports media. I don't work for papers. I just think working for five years now in the industry at least gives me a basis of knowledge on how it generally works (though I've still got plenty to learn).

I know a few people still involved in the papers and journo's are as susceptible to emotion as anyone else. If I hadn't clarified it before, I don't mean every single person working at all papers ever. You think a viscious shite like Dan Wooton hasn't targeted people?

If I hadn't clarified it before, I don't mean every single person working at all papers ever. You think a viscious shite like Dan Wooton hasn't targeted people? Dan Wootton definitely has. But again, I don't think it's actual hate. I honestly doubt he believes half of the shite he's written. He knows how to get a rise out of people and that's made him money. Same goes for someone like Katie Hopkins, Piers Morgan. Bringing it back to Liam though, and just using the above as my basis, that's why I said I don't think he was hated. He was a story, and always will be because he's what he is - a superstar. The press lap it up. Has he been harshly treated? Certainly. I won't dispute that. But there's a difference between that and hate, imo.
