Great interview, many thanks. Roger Daltry was spot on about the ‘rock n roll’ sign, it’s cringe worthy. Liam is, to use the term a rock n roll star, BUT the music his band play is straight forward Rock. There is no Roll like the Stones, Chuck Berry etc. music with rhythm and a groove.

Rock n roll is not just a type of music. It's a way of life. It's everything Liam stood for and comes in a long line of rock n rollers. Keith Moon, Lemmy, Ozzy Osbourne, etc.

It's a tribute to some Manchester band who had a similar ‘rock n roll’ sign on stage, or something like that.

Just listening to it now.
Liam really does Be Here Now justice, and the band have improved so much as well.

imagine thinking coldplays first album is the best ever...
Sounds like a great guy but for the life of me i cannot work out why the team have got together a bunch of "lads" over the very best musicians they can find.
we could all tell from the first few gigs that this wasnt a professional sounding band and this interview confirms that theyre all very inexperienced at what they do.
how difficult would it have been to find a few world class musicians to go on tour and play some of the UK's biggest festival slots and huge outdoor gigs?

I guess after the experience of Oasis both Liam and Noel have prioritised harmony over artistry when it comes to bandmates. Noel live might be better now with Gem and Chris but people spend years on here moaning about the people on stage with him don't forget. Can't say I blame them, who doesn't want a bit of peace and quiet when they are at work.

Also *rubbing my index and middle finger against my thumb* Exactly. I don't think even Liam knew he'd have this much success. Of course it would've been cool if he had, let's say, John Squire alongside with him but it wasn't realistic was it?

Enjoyed listening to this. He's not the best drummer, but it's working with the songs at the moment. Nice guy by the sounds of it too.

I think it was always going to be a gamble as to who you take on the road with you for so long (personality wise). I agree with you that his priority was getting a good harmony amongst the lads but there comes a point when enough is enough. Jay is still fucking up so badly that even when ive played some of these live performances to non musicians, theyve noticed. In 10 years time when peope are discovering Liams solo work for the first time then they'll be very dissapointed listening to the live playing when put alongside Oasis. Which is highly dissapointing when considering he should have world class musicians on board.

Remember early 2017, when he was doing interviews saying "if people don't like this one I'll just sod off" etc.? This really could have been a "fade away rather than burn out" story, and Liam was in no position to spend a lot of money on sidemen.

When watching Liam in Amsterdam i thought Liam's voice was strong, but at times there was something missing band wise-and i am not a musician by any means. When Bonehead came on for the encore that all changed. It reminded me of the old Oasis wall of sound.
Bring back the Bone...

Bring back the Bone... I felt exactly same. When Bonehead came on stage and started to play Supersonic, it was all Oasis sound of wall. Never thought I would see him standing next to Liam to play. We met Bonehead outside. Top guy!

Its probably because playing, reharsing and touring with world class musicians is not as fun and enjoyable as doing it with regular dudes who just like music and play some instruments (Quite well actually).

I'm sure they all get along, but it doesn't show.

Or maybe they don't have balls to turn their amps loud enough to match Liam. I remember reading that Noel was always "fighting" against Liam by trying sound louder with his guitar
