None. Morrisey is a whiney cranky old racist. As was Rudyard Kipling, and all those Modernist writers who flirted with fascism. That doesn't mean we can't still enjoy the art they created. With the difference that Morrissey was none of those things back when he wrote those lyrics. Ok, maybe a bit whiney, but in a more charming way than today.

Nearly of these words are applicable to Morrissey, but “racist?” That’s just lazy Oh really? I won't waste my timing quoting what he has said about Chinese and Pakistani people in the past not to mention the James Baldwin t shirt debacle but this was said just last year after the Manchester bombing. "In modern Britain everyone seems petrified to officially say what we all say in private." He was then and is now a racist. There is a lot of validity in what he said in response to the Manchester bombing

There is a lot of validity in what he said in response to the Manchester bombing So you're a racist, too. Good to know! Like I said, that’s the laziest thing you could have said. Forget about discussing an issue, just throw labels out!

Like I said, that’s the laziest thing you could have said. Forget about discussing an issue, just throw labels out! Please, do go ahead and explain the so called validity of Morrissey's statements after the bombing. We are all rapt. It’s simple. He stated that politicians are afraid of naming Islamist extremists when they commit a crime like this. It’s always just “extremist.” White, Black, Asian, etc are all labeled by their skin color but for some reason, Islam is not called out on when members of that faith commit crimes. And for some reason, people call Muslims a race, which they are not. There’s a lot of truth to what he said, regardless of what you think of him.

By using the term Islamic extremist you are in effect vilifying an entire religion. It's just fear mongering. That logic does not make any sense. It describes a single person or a group of people (not an entire faith.) There is a problem though because it is hard to bring up questions about this particular faith without being labeled as a fear monger or racist

Ach, let’s cut the discussion on Morrissey and his political views and concentrate on him being Britain’s greatest lyricist of the last 30 plus years.
“An engagement ring Doesn’t mean a thing To a mind consumed by brass and money”
“And when I’m lying in my bed I think about life and I think about death And neither one particularly appeals to me”
“Love, peace and harmony Oh very nice, very nice, very nice But maybe in the next world”
“Farewell to this lands cheerless marshes Hemmed in like a boar between arches Her very lowness with a head in a sling I’m truly sorry but it sounds like a wonderful thing”
“The pain was enough To make a shy bald Buddhist reflect And plan a mass murder”

"Her very lowness with a head in a sling I’m truly sorry but it sounds like a wonderful thing” Stephen Patrick Morrissey, one of the finest gangsta rappers of his generation.
