Was the gig sold out?
6,000 tickets sold if that's the case?
Surely the biggest venue in the US (that was purely 'Gallagher', and not a festival) that either of the brothers have played since the DOYS tour?

One thing is i missed in my quick comments last night that others have mentioned is how good it was to see Gem back. I didn’t go to any Beady Eye shows, so it had been 10 years since I last saw him play. He really brings something extra to the texture of old and new songs, and I’m glad he’s well enough to tour.
His solo on Go Let It Out was killer!

Going back to Usher Hall in Edinburgh when the first album came out, Noel has just got better and better and is now very much a frontman regardless of what the haters will think. I’ve seen improvement every live show I’ve been to since that Usher Hall gig. Going back then he was very much head down facing the ground and eyes closed, now he’s head up, relaxed and owning it.
Have to say, my first Noel/Oasis gig in the States and the crowd was far more reserved compared to what I’m used to back home - maybe it was the venue?
Great gig and a great night. Had my reservations about the setlist but I have to admit I even got a little emotional during All You Need Is Love. They’ve also done a slightly different working to HTWA and as much as I think it should be removed it got a massive reception and I still enjoyed it, to be honest the same goes for Dream On - I loved it.

I’m not saying the crowd wasn’t loving it but they were standing very very still in front of their seats. The biggest fan moments were during ITHOTM, IIHAG and WAL. Obviously Oasis songs got big ovations. DLBIA being the largest.

Go Let It Out really did fit the vibe and atmosphere of what Noel is brining for his tour in 2018. Blended extremely well. All band members active. He now has enough for an entire starting football club! Agreed - it’s really starting to click. I’m psyched to hear it in a Chicago next week. The only thing I’d change - why isn’t Charlotte blowing the whistle? Seems like her style.

Yeah, the crowd was far more reserved, but I think it's because of the venue.
I appreciated the fact that he dramatically changed his setlist. His Beacon show made me reluctant to buy tickets to see him this time around, but now I'm glad I went.
It was a great show, but I have one criticism: he wasn't as talkative as he normally is. Between that and the blackouts in between songs, I felt a divide (fourth wall, maybe?) between the band and the audience. Anyone else feel that way?

During the encore, the playing of studio chatter. Revealed later to be from the RTE studios in Dublin just prior to Noel playing Dead In The Water. Was totally not needed.

It's a nice little way of leading into the song though. If anything, it's a nod to 'die hards' in the audience - which is what people want?

Idk, I mean it had the banter like on the bonus track from MOON and even had his warm up strums as he was walking back on stage. Why not just walk on stage and do the strums live? Small gripes for sure but it did seem odd. Many people in my section thought it was a mistake and they left Noel’s mic on backstage.

Loved all the studio chatter that preceded Dead In The Water. Lighten up, people.

What was the Phil Smith DJ playlist prior to this gig (or any gig thus far on this USA tour)? Yep this isn’t a new thing.

Spectacular gig from Noel! Highlight was definitely Go Let It Out and Half the World Away. Did anyone else feel Gem was much too quiet in the mix? I could barely hear his solo on Importance of Being Idle. The full band sounded excellent, but in general I preferred the stripped back Noel on acoustic with less instrumentation behind him (a la Dead in the Water, Half the World Away, DLBIA).

Thought you were asking if he was the DJ prior to this gig. From what I recall in Detroit he did play that 'High Flying Birds' song but after that it was just a psychedelic mishmash of stuff I couldn't identify.

Agree it felt odd to me too, esp. when you assume he's talking about blurring out Liam...

Phil Smith is always DJ and us Americans are always well reserved at gigs. I hate that about us Yanks. Maybe it’s that we don’t booze as hard as Europeans? Could be that we are always acting too cool.
I was lucky enough to see Richard Ashcroft in Manchester this summer...and the fact that I could drink open containers in a nearby park led to me skip Lee Scratch Perry as the opener. Top night, drunk on the cheap.
As for the playing of the extended RTE intro...I did have to explain it to those nearby...but, isn’t that a great opportunity to play the instrumentals from the album??

It took me a bit to realize what it was from and had to explain it to a few people nearby.

I normally don’t watch fan videos because the quality is obviously lacking which doesn’t do justice to the performance.
But I’m warching fan videos of Noel in New York on Feb 15, 2018.
I haven’t seen Noel so free and happy on stage for well over a decade. Perhaps not since 2005 and the DBTT era.
