Was thinking about all the offcial merchandise you can get with the Beatles.... Lego, lava lamps, monopoly etc etc.... also with other "bands" like Kiss, you can get all sorts. Made me realise that Oasis are pretty shit on that front.... I would probably think most of the stuff would be naff and say that I wouldn't buy any of it.... but in the end I would probably buy everything Thoughts?

Exactly the reason why I'm glad they've not signed the lincensing or whatever to go down that route. It cheapens the band and what they stand for IMO. I'd rather not see more young people sporting badges and shirts and mugs of another band they only like for the logo like RHCP, Acdc, the who, the stones, led zep etc.

I still have 2 tour T shirts (DBTT and DOYS) which I bought after the gig back then. I wore my DBTT tour T shirt when I met Kasabian for the first time and Chris and Serge were whispering to each other "Oasis...". I also bought tour programme on DBTT and DOYS tour. I even bought a non-official poster outside the venue. But normally I don't even bother merchandise.

The best Oasis t-shirt I ever had was a cheapy outside the Eithad, proper design, loads of dates on the back. It died a sad death years ago as it just fell apart in the end. Plus I've still got my hoody from Barrowlands which is my pride and joy (shame it doesn't fit anymore...), that was bought outside after the show.
I've got posters including my Finsbury Park one which was was fucked due to the rain. DBTT programme which is actually terrible as it's just the albums lyrics from memory.
I also bought a load of promo posters years back, I've got a massive 6 foot There and Then one, pretty cool and Sunday Morning Call poster with the UK 2000 tour dates on it including Reading & Leeds.
I think they could have done a lot better over the years with it, the 10 years of Noise and Confusion shirt I got was pretty shit and I remember it being the best of a bad bunch.

It seems the strategy for bands has been to make merch as cheaply and easy to make as possible, then charge max prices for it and hope the beer and enthusiasm post gig lead go merch sales.
Literally all bands I’ve seen in concert offer shit merch. I’m sorry but I’m not buying a $40 t shirt or $80 hoodie. Even if it did look cool.
