But there were things that happened within those 9 years that neither would have let happen now. For instance, Liam finally got the condition sorted out with his voice and then started looking after it. Never even occured to him to make sure that happened in Oasis. Noel blamed Liams wedding for not putting better songs on DOYS. Whatever the reason was for that, would Noel decide after a month long illness for instance that he was gonna fuck off 3 songs for WBTM and just put out worse songs instead? Just shit like that as an example. There should never have been anything less than 100% effort from everyone involved and we never got that. There's no doubt because their names are up in lights that it means more now and thats a bit of a kick in the balls to us as fans in that time. More so to fans like you who are a bit older than me That was always a lame ass excuse from Noel. That was in March. Album dropped in October. You telling me Liam couldn't go to the studio to lay down vocals for another 2-3 songs? Its absurd. I'm sure the actual reason is even more pathetic than the one given to us publicly. This was frustrating shit by a band that clearly showed signs that the party was over no matter how big the tours and venues got. The album music was getting stale and uneven. It was an absurd excuse. Come On It's Alright still hasnt surfaced yet though. Maybe he's secretly keeping it for the Oasis comeback single.

Great backing track and you can tell Noel was still tinkering with the guide vocal. I'm sure we have his HFB demo, not the DOYS demo under the original title that you wrote.

Did Noel forget about Come On It's Alright?
Three albums in and nothing about it.

Did Noel forget about Come On It's Alright? Three albums in and nothing about it. He discussed it briefly with jeffslate while promoting HFB in NYC August 2011. Said it was on the "back burner" and could pop up on HFB #2.

All those tracklisting could not happen, because Noel would refuse external songwriter's songs.
Only with Liam and Noel's tunes: As You Built the Moon
1. Fort Knox 2. Holy Mountain 3. Keep on Reaching 4. Beautiful World 5. She Taught Me How to Fly 6. Universal Gleam 7. Greedy Soul 8. Be Careful What You Wish For 9. Love is The Law 10. All My People / All Mankind 11. The Man Who Built the Moon

He never could pick a decent tracklist since MG.

Greedy soul is a better rocker than I Get By and You Better Run. I find I've All I Need rather boring. Bold yeah, somewhere maybe. It's not my favorite tune on the record. This As You Built the Moon is a bit adventurous, If it's to repeat Oasis glory then why not just put As You Were in its entirety ?

Just for fun. Can anyone create a coherent and cohesive Gallagher album for 2017 from As You Were and Who Built The Moon? Would be interested to see what people come up with. already done I moved your post here.

If Bold and I've All I Need were on WBTM, they would still be strong standout tracks.

If Bold and I've All I Need were on WBTM, they would still be strong standout tracks. Now all I want is to hear David Holmes-produced versions of both.

It's taken me a while but here is what I think would make a really good 'Oasis' album.
I've gone for four Noel-sung songs, as I think that's the max you'd have on an Oasis album.
I'd urge people to put this as a playlist and try it. Personally think it flows really well and I'm chuffed I seem to have stumbled on a formula that works.
Honourable mentions to all of the Noel songs I missed off - which I all love, but I couldn't find a place for them - plus 'Universal Gleam', 'When I'm In Need', 'Paper Crown' and 'Doesn't Have To Be That Way'. To compensate, I've put which I'd like to see as singles and b-sides, using the classic 'three b-side per-single' formula.
1. Fort Knox (couldn't really start anywhere else) 2. Greedy Soul (For me this works better after FK than WOG. Would have had HM, but can't have either of the first two songs on an Oasis album not featuring Liam) 3. Holy Mountain (banger, has to be early on in the album) 4. Wall Of Glass (surprisingly compliments HM, I think) 5. Bold (after the first four high-tempo songs, we slow it down a tiny bit. This acts as the start of the three-song centrepiece at the end of Side 1) 6. It's A Beautiful World (again, works well in contrast to Bold and ups the tempo a bit) 7. She Taught Me How To Fly (for me, this has to come in as a pair with IABW. They work so well together)
8. You Better Run (a great way to start side two. Fast-paced, but at the same time a bit throwaway. Keeps the momentum right up) 9. For What It's Worth (the second 'ballad' on the album after Bold. Think it fits well here, in the back half) 10. Come Back To Me (FWIW is pretty long - this gets us right back to the fast-paced rock n roll, and great Liam vocals) 11. The Man Who Built The Moon (an ace song that couldn't be missed off. The last Noel vocals on the album) 12. End Credits (calms it back down after the furore of no.10 and 11 - the last 10 seconds, you think the album's done, then...) 13. I've All I Need (It has to end with a Liam vocal for me, and this one is a classic ballad. Nothing spiteful, just a great tune)
Bonus track (vinyl only)
Dead In The Water
Singles
Lead 1. Wall Of Glass 2. I Get By 3. Black & White Sunshine 4. Chinatown
Second 1. Holy Mountain 2. Keep On Reaching 3. Doesn't Have To Be That Way 4. Paper Crown
Third 1. Greedy Soul 2. If Love Is The Law 3. Universal Gleam 4. God Help Us All
Fourth 1. It's A Beautiful World 2. When I'm In Need 3. Be Careful... 4. All My People / All Mankind

Tbh the production on those middle records REALLY let them down imo. Especially DBTT which should have been produced/mixed by someone other than you-know-who... because the material is, mostly, there. Same for Heathen Chemistry which, to me, sounds so damn boring, production-wise. It takes until now for both brothers to get real producers. xD I don't agree with all the choices on WBTM but at least it's actual production.
