After this and Freaky Teeth they should really be chatting up Noel to do the next bond theme.

I think this is my favourite track. Love the deep male choir and the overall menacing tone. Hope he's playing this one live.

Love it...I am getting a dark November Rain (GnR) feeling from it.

I love everything about this tune. Elements of the production feel like Holmes' film soundtrack experience shining through.
Someone I listened to this song with said it sounded like Muse. Not sure if I should say "Yeah, I can see that" or beat them with their own shoes for comparing Lord Noel to those whiney goth pricks.

if you ever wanted the antithesis to The Masterplan this is it. Pretty damn cinematic. Sure its a bit more brooding with its rhythm but if The Masterplan was a ship of Noel's acquiesce, then this is that ship raging against the current. The arrangement gives it a explosive tension. Noel legit sounds pretty badass. Menacing, but colorful. Ships off to the moon. I like your little review, I think it sums up the song well. For some reason, Travis come to mind when I hear this song. Could be reminiscent of the darker, moody Ode to J Smith album. If Noel hadn't written this song, maybe it would have found its way to Fran Healy for the next Travis LP

Their records post Resistance have been generally shit bar a tune or two. But before that, Showbiz, Origin of Symmetry, Absolution and Black Holes and Revelations are very good works.

Something about this song has a real Richard Ashcroft feel to it for me. I'm not sure what it is.

I was not especially looking forward to this one as “Dark, menacing” Noel tends not to do it for me. But it’s become my favourite. It’s an absolute blinder.

Who's got CHORDS for this one? Want to go acoustic with it. My interpretation - would also recommend checking out KhanMightSay and Rolo's great covers on YouTube for a slightly different take Again, you'll need to hit Quote on my post to see the placings of the chords above the lyrics Capo on 1st fretIntro = Em for a few bars, then after the drums crescendo, it's G, D, Am, Em x3, then C, Em Verse 1 =
Em She was there diamonds in her hair Am Em Singing out a dead man's song Em Here am I with the mighty and the high Am Em Feeling like I don't belong Em There's you in your book of who's who Am Em Acting like you just don't care Em We were lying low, got nowhere to go Am Em And any road will get us there Chorus =
G D Am Em We never should have left town in the first place G D Am Em Now we gotta walk like they talk in a rat race G D Am Em Keep your eyes on the prize if you want it all C Emaj7/4 (021200) You and I, the spider and the fly, we'll meet where the shadows fall Gregorian chant/choir bit
Em, C#m (one strum), B#m (one strum), Em, C, Em Verse 2 = same pattern between Em and Am as verse 1 Followed by same chorus as before SoloEm (over the chant), then G, D, Am, Em x3 Then back into chorus, but for the spider and the fly line its G D Am Em You and I, the spider and the fly, we'll meet where the shadows fall then G, D, Am, Em x3 Em You and I, the spider and the fly, we'll meet where the shadows fall

TMWBTM would fit nicely on the Arctic Monkey’s Humbug album.
