Beady Eye was Liam & The Yes Men. The whole project was Liam attempting to prove he didn't need Noel. The others were just along for the ride.

Lol, love that he's kissing Morrisey's arse considering he uses co-writers,the very reason he offered for refusing to listen to Liam's album.
Good interview though.

Gem did not have one bad word to say against either brother in that podcast interview lately, Andy pushed both brothers' albums and, I think, complimented Liam on one of his first singles - and Chris never said anything anyway. Yep, very little in it. Noel has his fishing rod out, trying to get a bite from Liam. He'll likely get one as well!

Well if Liam did plan to go solo, then fair play to him, the decision is an absolute belter that's worked a treat.
Wouldn't blame him at all, there's only so much you can stomach hanging about with talentless band members.

Ride Andy Bell is great (well not so much Carnival of Light one as he strangely started turning from sound pioneer to derivative luddite) but Beady Eye and Oasis Andy Bell is absolutely shocking. The less said about the king of dad rockers Gem Archer, the better.

Second time he mentions the "better than Oasis" bit. Which AYW is not, but he's a little bothered. And fuck's sake, don't call Morrissey a "saint who can do no wrong" and then slam Adele, whose only sin seems to be having songwriting help. Like, you know, Elvis or Sinatra. Morrissey has been a bit of a dick the past few years but I guess Noel is going down a similar path now so their personalities probably mesh well.

Isn't he being a bit hypocritical when he knocks Liam for using song writers, but then in various interviews admits that Holmes was pretty much holding his hand throughout the making of the entire album? I guess using the word "collaboration" is his way out.

GALLAGHER: I think he ditched those guys to go solo because it was financially better for him. I’ve got two of those guys in my band. The tales that they happen to tell would make your toes curl. [laughs] Do tell! It would be so shit, and actually quite cowardly of Gem or Chris to say anything Liam did in Beady Eye. Like as if its not bad enough hes got Beady Eye rejects after reminding everyone how much they crashed.

I'd like to know what Andy REALLY thinks in 2017 when he is no longer relying on Liam or the Oasis brand for a paycheck. Bullshit. Andy didnt come out with that straight after Oasis or at the start of Beady Eye to back Liam up or with any motives whatsoever. He was asked in a japanese magazine after time and time again being referred to by Noel in the big arguement in paris. Andy kept a very dignified silence until then and was then asked. Theres nothing in what he says back that could better anyone else. He gives a very honest viewpoint on it all and to me it sounds like the most truthful account of any.

I'm sure both Andy and Gém are grateful for the opportunity and what Oasis brought them, but I'd be curious of their opinion off the record, for instance, Líam just abruptly ending BDi....I think Gém found out about the break up via Líam's tweet about it, like everybody else, if I'm not mistaken....
Thanks.

The less said about the king of dad rockers Gem Archer, the better. I think he was trying to write "Oasis - sounding " songs. Which obviously is not that natural to thing. But he's so talented he made it work IMO, TYFT Good Times is an amazing song for me, as well as Turn Up The Sun. He also had some very good standard rock songs with Hurricane #1. With Beady Eye I think he was forcing himself to write similar songs to Oasis that Liam could deliver, but obviously that didn't turn out alright. But of course, he is in another level with Ride.

I guess using the word "collaboration" is his way out. Not really, David Holmes did what producers are supposed to do. Oasis and Noel were always very unusual in how they worked with producers. There's plenty of very successful bands out there where the producer took/takes a major role in crafting the songs and defining the sound but doesn't get songwriting credits. Hint: one was quite famous in the 60s.

Great interview! Noel is full of sh!t as ever just like his brother! The money thing about BE is a chicken/egg thing so Noel is clealy being disingenuous here. And the honorable thing to do would be to praise his bro’s new album, even if insincere. That is the American take, because we are superficially polite like that...So bravo to NG for being clearly unclassy and subtly rude about his brother. Its absurd and terrific. And any of the Liam defenders in these parts who think Liam’s actually sincere.. ha! I love both these dudes and they are both completely full of it. Thst’s the whole point actually

Well if you love the cool dad sponsored-by-viagra shtick of songs like Wind Up Dream or the sappiness of The Beat Goes On, then more fool you. Really worked wonders for Liam didn’t it.... Hilariously woeful.
