The first verse to Keep on Reaching feel like Curtis Mayfield's Move on Up. The rest is clearly about Liam, and are utterly dreadful. Those lyrics were written much before the Parka Monkeys thing. I don't think they are about Liam. They are the typical non-sense Noel lyrics It's not just the monkey man line.

Before everyone goes nuts, those lyrics were written MONTHS if not a year before the parka monkey stuff. So calm down. Or maybe Noel was preparing that “attack” for a year! What a schemer

Lyrics with no melody sound terrible often enough, even when they're written by better lyricists than Noel. The context of the entire song can change it all.

There was a monkey man in Bag it Up, it wouldn’t be the first time.
If Keep on Reaching is as good as that, that’s all I care.

Depends how it's sang to be honest. Could sound biting, could sound cringy. We'll see. Can't believe none of the media has mentioned it. No song should be judged on its lyrics alone. God, imagine reading the lyrics to 'obla di obla da' before the White album was released?

Couldn't give a shit about the lyrics to Keep On Reaching. As long as the overall song is great, it doesn't matter. Like all Gallagher songs.

What surprises the most of the Keep on Reaching lyrics is that not one reviewer seems to have mentioned anything?

Heres a mini review of side 2 as we have heard most of side 1
Be careful what you wished for One of the more regular rock tunes on the records. Not dissimilar to climbing up the walls by radiohead.
Wednesday Pt1 Dreamy instrumental – fits the album very well
Black and White Submarine Sunshine Feels like a smiths song to start with, upbeat jangly guitars, the closest to a straight out indie rock tune on the album. Awful Rolling Stone rip off tries its best to spoil it.
If Love is the Law Sounds almost Christmassy with sleighbells in the verse. A groovy McCartney bass line accompanies. Very Very upbeat, with a big chorus, the melody is so catchy its untrue.
The Man Who Built the Moon Starts quite grungy, but calms to a more acoustic affair in the verse. Sounds a little QOTSA. A choir feature quite low in the mix.
Wednesday pt 2 Finger plucked instrumental, nice end to the album
in all side 2 sounds a lot more like what noel promised us interms of a physcedelic record. If love is the law is definitely a highlight for me, but people will pull towards CWYWF and The man who built the moon for sure.
Re: keep on reaching, i didnt pay attention to the lyrics when i heard it, and thought it was a highlight of side 1, on review those lyrics are awful.....but ignore them!
