Had been the written by Noel and released as the lead single from Who Built the Moon, all fans would be cheering. Creative, experimental and still catchy. That is all.

Would sound better Noel singing it imo although love it how it is now, by far best song on AYW... deluxe one!

I think it’s more “experimental” (in the loosest sense) than anything by Noel so far. And as you say is catchy and can also be listened to again and again. It’s a nice variety to Liam’s vocals and sound. Well suited to Liam and certainly not Noel.

It sounds like what Tame Impala were doing about 5 years ago...

I was surprised by how much I loved it. I don't see Liam being able to sing it live comfortably, but it's a brilliant driving song.
Noel's higher pitch could do it justice live, though. One of those "what if" things we'll never see.

Love it.
I'd like to hear more stuff like this and less like FWIW on the next record.

It sounds like what Tame Impala were doing about 5 years ago... I interpreted the song as a tribute to Tame Impala honestly. The musical queues are everywhere. It's like hearing Liam sing a Tame Impala song it's mega.

Great song. I wished there had been a few more like this on AYW. Maybe Liam's next album may go in that direction.

I don't agree, because She Taught Me How To Fly is very similar and I hardly see any fans cheering. I love both songs, IDHTBTW is the best song on As You Were.

It's a decent song but like someone else has already alluded to, it's a complete rip off of Tame Impala. Hardly experimental.

It's like hearing Liam sing a Tame Impala song it's mega. Me too actually. I always felt a lot of Tame Impala stuff sounds like Dungen with a Lennon impersonator singing on top. If you've never heard Dungen, they're a Swedish band and i'm pretty sure Tame Impala took a lot of influence from them, right down to the production and mixing. Musically they're not far off songs like Doesn't Have To Be That Way...

I really like Tame Impala, but don't think "It Doesn’t Have to Be that Way" is that similar. Yes, some similarities in the sound, but at the same time it sounds different to Tame Impala's songs. Great song, Liam's vocals are perfect. I can't really imagine Noel singing this at all.

Good song, but nowhere near the level of quality of Fort Knox or Holy Mountain.

I love it but understand why it wasn’t on the album, he’d never be able to sing it live.
