Not really a review of As You Were. He says he hasn't even heard the album, only a couple of singles.

Who gives a shit what Weller thinks about Liams record? On the other hand Liam reviewing PW mostly trivial records of the last 10-15 years could be lot of fun.

Don't know much about Weller, but Carnation is a good song, especially when Liam sang it.

If there wasn't a title on this thread, that clip could've easily been mistaken for his take on Holy Mountain.

Couldn't care less about Uri Geller's opinion anyway.

What an idiot. Do him and Liam not get on? Liam's taken some shots at him as being part of Noel's "cabal", so PW might be less than enamored with Liam. But I don't think they're enemies or anything.

Haha. So the Liam Zombies hate Paul Weller now? May the farce be with you. It is actually possible to dislike PW's music. No need to be insulting.

Haha. So the Liam Zombies hate Paul Weller now? May the farce be with you. Haters gonna hate. Never been much of a fan of his post jam stuff with the odd exception to be honest. Amusing to hear him toe the party line though. 'Only heard the single but not listened to the rest cos it's not worth my time'. Or variation of. Sounds like him and Noel collaborate on more than writing songs.

I think Weller is probably the greatest British songwriter of all time but if he's only heard a couple of songs then I'm not interested in hearing him pass judgement on a album. Its worthless.

He wrote a shit load of great songs in The Jam a much smaller clutch for The Style Council and then a load more great songs solo covering a variety of different styles and taking in many different influences. I have thought he was a bit of a dick head at times but his talent is undeniable.

I have thought he was a bit of a dick head at times but his talent is undeniable. Undeniably talented. As I said earlier I never really clicked with most of his solo work though. And by era I just meant age wise. They both came to prominence in the late seventies with an angry young man persona. I just much prefer EC songwriting. We are talking about two great songwriters without a doubt though. He may have remained active but I think most people would think of The Jam when thinking of him at his peak.
