I hope in the future we get the demos from this album on a Faster Than type release. I know there weren't proper demos, but it would be great to hear earlier versions showing how tracks were tweaked and improved over time.

Not sure that will ever happen, but what I'm really looking forward to is seeing the whole album remixed (and hopefully collected on a single release and not scattered all over the place).

Thinking back to the be here now bundle in HMV that included the stand by me single, they where selling that separate in store when I went in so I'm goona go in and just buy the orange single separate hopefully cause I ordered the standard vinyl from noels site.
Ordered the Japan CD from CD Japan.

So is there any difference between the deluxe and standard CD in terms of tracks? Doesn't seem like it. Both feature Dead in the Water, and are 1CD. Probably hard backed packaging with images and whatnot.

I don't know, we got at least one demo from both the last album cycles, so I think there's a chance we'll get one or two early/alternative versions this time round as b-sides or bonuses. I agree that this album sounds ripe for remixing too. |

At first I thought it was weird having a live version released on the album rather than the proper studio version, but then I got to thinking maybe he learnt his lesson from IIHAG...? |

Definitely it's hard backed book style but what make it deluxe? Also I wonder what content/footage is on the Japan bonus DVD? (Which I've ordered) |

I'm not sure that we're supposed to consider Dead in the Water as part of the album proper. Think of it like a bonus track Noel wanted everyone to have, perhaps because it's too good to be wasted as only a Japanese bonus track. I've seen many albums (mainly hip-hop albums) that have an extra track not intended as part of the album tacked onto the end of the standard edition CD, so it's not an uncommon practice.

In this day and age it’s fucking daft for all these different versions - Japan, I’m looking at you. It just makes it mildly irritating for fans to track down the illegal download of other bonus tracks not realeased in their individual country.

Agreed, although as discussed here so often this is due to the really expensive CDs in Japan. It’s almost a “standard” to add a Bonus Track in order for people to buy that and not a cheap(er) import

It makes sense and wait for April for regular RSD, by then there may be bonus tracks etc, and have something like “songs from the great white north”. But also, kinda like “in the heat of the moment” remix 12” EP, he could have holy mountain, or beautiful world on 12” along with the remixes that were mentioned by Beyond the wizard guys
