^ Sensible post and I agree with a lot, except that I don't "believe Noel more because Liam might distort the truth". I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. Exactly. It's neither a case of Noel and the world against Liam, nor is it a case of poor, put-upon Noel walking away while Andy Bell sat there counting his toes. As Liam said, "Fucking hell, them two..."

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm sure Noel's vision is distorted as well or maybe he's just not telling the truth at all (although I don't believe Liam when he says Noel invented the whole Pretty Green argument... Noel knows Liam and knows he wouldn't let that pass if it was a lie). But Liam's really pissed off about the end of Oasis and has been for 8 years now. When you're angry, you tend to distort things a bit more whereas, like in any argument, each of them have a different view of what happened. It's just that, with Liam, you have to add the anger.

So, he has a lot of reasons to lie. Anger, bitterness, embarrassment. It's not hard to see Andy being far more defensive after being put to blame. But I tend to believe Andy on this one.

He was obviously pissed off at Noel and in the article he takes a step back to calm down. But he was definitely livid. But then Andy doesn't know what he's talking about. He wasn't with Liam and Noel 24/7. They could have discussed this when he wasn't there.

Regarding Noel's politics, I appreciate that the opinions he shares are genuinely his (even if I don't always agree with them!). So many celebrities these days spout the same generic, feel-good platitudes just to keep their predominantly young, progressive audience happy. Noel isn't fake like that and that is refreshing to hear. It's okay to have a difference of opinion. And I say that as a young progressive.

No, it's not "refreshing" to hear a working class guy turned multimillionaire shitting on the very people he would've been without an extraordinary talent.

Honesty is refreshing, I can appreciate he's telling it how he thinks it is but realising he's become an old Tory is hugely disappointing. The reasons my interest in Noel has waned are not really to do with Liam, more so his opinions on politics, how he talks about money and the company he keeps along with my indifference to his voice and the music he makes but its all part of the package for me.

I appreciate honesty. And Noel being a Tory, however disappointing that may be, doesn't change a thing about how much I like his music.
However, his views on politics often come across as ignorant. And when you're ignorant on a subject, I think you should shut up. It's like if I would try to discuss cars or something.

Totally with you on this! Noel was asked a question and instead of answering with a lie or slithering away from the question like a spineless coward, he answered it truthfully. It is honesty of his opinion I appreciate, not the content of it. I too was disappointed with the specifics of what Noel had to say and the thought-process he used to construct his opinion.

Its down to the individual what does and doesn't make a difference to them. What I think of Noel the songwriter and Noel the interviewee are pretty much separate anyway.

But what I mean is that his word depends on the word of either Gallagher brothers, not necessarily first hand experience because they weren't together 24/7. So if one of the brothers is lying, whether it's Liam or Noel, Andy's not the one who can who can tell us which one it is.

Is Noel actually a tory now?
I was fucking livid to read Jake Bugg saying that growing up he voted labour but now he has money he sees it differently and votes tory. What a vagina.
People are right to say that politics should stay out of the discussion because it always turns heated but dont preach about being an artist for the working classes and then shit on us at the first attempt you get.
