He brought calm which along with Gem is probably just what the band needed. I might not have had the opportunity to see them as much if not for those two.

He brought stability, calm, peace to a band that was imploding. He brought a bass to the sound which was 404 before. and for a guitar player, he was a pretty good bass player.
He and Gem were in Oasis longer than Bonehead or Guigsy, they managed to keep the brothers together for almost 10 years, which was probably a big, big job. Only for that, they are to thank.

Yup he's a good bass player (at least you can hear him on records/concerts).

Well, what he was meant to bring? Noel called him to play bass in Oasis, he played bass, Noel told him to bring some songs, he brought some songs, Liam told him to carry on with him, he carried on. I don't really understand what's your problem with this guy. What would you bring to Oasis ?

Well then, Noel should have call Lemmy Kilmister to play with them.

Some good bass riffs. And Turn Up The Sun must be one of my favourite Oasis openers ever. I don't get the hate on this lad. Guigs did nothing on Oasis. Tell me one great bass guitar riff from Be Here Now. Go on.

This, so much. I add myself to the few that can't believe the shit Andy (and sometimes Gem) get. And I'm also in the (very) few that prefer the lineup with Andy and Gem to Guigsy and Bonehead. People here complaining Andy didn't move or showed any emotion, because Guigsy surely was a riot on stage right? And as someone mentioned before, he did what he was asked and expected of him. He is a very talented musician, no question about it but of course he wasn't going to do with Oasis what he did (and continues doing) with Ride. He was asked to contribute songs, he delivered Thank You For The Good Times (which I can't understand wasn't on HC), Turn Up The Sun and KTDA, all three which I personally love. He then was told the band were trying something more "psychedelic" he then comes up with Nature of Reality. It was not his band, he wasn't going to take control or did whatever he wanted. He also has some very, very good songs with Hurricane #1 by the way.

Andy Bell on A Quick Peep "It’s an idealistic song about peace and the hope for a better world" We have an idealistic dream about the Gallagher's making peace, and the hope for a better Oasis... without you in it yer boring bastard!

Andy Bell was a rock star and genius songwriter when Oasis was still looking for clues. He was a perfect compliment to the chaos that was Oasis. It clearly seems orchestrated that Andy took a back seat in Oasis, because Liam is the focal point, then Noel. There isnt really room for a 3rd, in that situation, but if you think Andy Bell contributed little to Oasis, listen to "Keep The Dream Alive", and "Thank You For The Good Times." Two epic, triumphant songs by Andy for Oasis, and some of the best songwriting, ever. A perfect contrast / compliment for Oasis.

Three epic, triumphant songs by Andy for Oasis, and some of the best songwriting, ever. A perfect contrast / compliment for Oasis. Ok Andy.

Also "A Quick Peep" was epic and one of the best instrumentals ever.

There's always gonna be idiot naysayers, of course. Look at Liam's new band. They are literal statues. Do you think that is a coincidence? Buy a clue.

I don't think Andy really added to Oasis, maybe stability but is that neccesarily a good thing in a RNR band?
I also think that the banner image of Andy, Noel, Liam, & Gem on this site should be changed to an image of a 90s Oasis lineup.
That image looks dead out of date to me nowadays.
