Alright, it's that time again, everyone share their pick for the Super Bowl. I'm going with the Steelers, with Bettis getting MVP. I have a feeling he's going to run for two or more touchdowns this sunday. If not Bettis, Big Ben for sure.

The Seahawks didn't play that well, and I think Holmgren and Hasselback made a lot of terrible play calls (why didn't they run the ball more with Alexander? and poor clock management near the end of the first half, and at the end). At the same time the Steelers didn't play too well either - Big Ben - 22.6 passer rating. That's Trent Dilfer territory.
...
BUT the referees screwed the Seahawks over. That was some disgusting officiating by that whole crew.
The first Pass Interference on the seahawks should have been a touchdown. There wasn't even much contact, and the receiver didn't push off. Even Steve Young thought it was a bad call.
The TD Ben ran in didn't even look like it crossed the line. He was already down then he reached his hand towards the line. The ref originally looked like he was gonna spot the ball, but then he somehow changed his mind a few seconds after.
The holding call on Locklear (?) wasn't even a holding penalty. He wasn't grabbing anything. Instead the seahawks get pushed back instead of being at the 1. Even Madden thought that was a bullshit call.
The personal foul on Hasselback where he blocked the guy low wasn't a foul, because you are allowed to go low when attempting to tackle someone on defence.
Play Clock ran out on the Steelers but there was no flag and the refs gave them the timeout.
There were a lot of small bullshit calls too that i forget, but i remember scratching my head all game wondering what was up with the officials. The NFL needs to clean up their act.
I hope they have a few superbowl rings ready for all the officials from tonights game. Nice work guys.

true we messed up too many chances
but our called-back td and the pitt non-td in particular were atrocious officiating cock-ups, what the hell is instant replay there for if not to corect exactly that?
that was a difference of 14 points and, together with hass's int at the pitt 2 yd line left the hawks xhasin the game
which i guess is why holmy didnt run sa more (shaun got what, 95 yds on 20 carries so when called upon he delivered)
i was disappointed that, having played pitt tough and made em fight for their gains, those calls went against us AND we didnt put our opportunities away
personally i dont think i wouldve had josh brown try fgs from 50 and 54 yds
but more than anything im pleased we got as far as we did this year its still a season to remember and its why i shelled out on that signed football as a memento

The first Pass Interference on the seahawks should have been a touchdown. There wasn't even much contact, and the receiver didn't push off. Even Steve Young thought it was a bad call. There was contact though, and it did look like he pushed off a bit, it was too close to call, but I think the made the right call. The TD Ben ran in didn't even look like it crossed the line. He was already down then he reached his hand towards the line. The ref originally looked like he was gonna spot the ball, but then he somehow changed his mind a few seconds after. While he was diving in mid air the ball was just a touch over the plain, but once the made contact with Seahawk defenders he was pushed back, so it looked like he didn't make it over the line. The personal foul on Hasselback where he blocked the guy low wasn't a foul, because you are allowed to go low when attempting to tackle someone on defence. I didn't understand that call, I thought Hasselback made a perfectly legal tackle. I think it was because it wasn't a tackle, but more of a block. Play Clock ran out on the Steelers but there was no flag and the refs gave them the timeout. It's no secret that there is always a one second grace period, that's not the first time a timeout has been given to a team, it's happen numerous times over the season and in the playoffs.

I don't understand why they didn't use him to his full potential, he is the MVP of the year. I don't think we'll see him back in Seattle next year.

I am glad the Steelers won. What a great ending for Bettis. Seattle will be a contender again next year.

The litmus test for this is the fact when you talk to the Seattle Seahawks after the game, they didn't talk about the referees. They talked about problems they had of their own making." J.A. Adande, Los Angeles Times on ESPN's "Around the Horn": "The officiating contributed to the outcome. It did not determine the outcome. The bottom line is Seattle still had the ball in the fourth quarter with a chance to take the lead and Hasselbeck threw that interception. Yeah. There were some questionable things. I've never seen a holding call where a guy only uses one hand. I don't even know if it's possible to hold a defender with one hand. They did call that. They were blowing things all night. But Seattle, the Seahawks were the ones blowing things even worse." Jay Mariotti, Chicago Sun-Times on ESPN's "Around the Horn": "When Kelly Herndon intercepts that ball and runs it back, I thought Seattle was going to win the football game. And all those calls pretty much came before that so you can't sit here and say Seattle lost because of the penalties."

Look at the Steelers/Colts game, there were soooo many bad calls and all on the Steelers, but they managed to still win. I think the best team won on Sunday.
