Ever listened to Dan Marino talk... players like him are the reason for the "big, dumb jock" stereotype that persists about football players.

Peyton Manning got caught with steroids and was cleared. You can't make this shit up!
* Yes I know technically it was "Ashley Manning's" but gimme a fucking break. Yeah, she's into bodybuilding.

Many people consider Dan Marino a top 5 quarterback......Joe Montana, Tom Brady, John Elway, Peyton Manning and Dan Marino, whatever order you want, I have the G.L.A. at the top personally......Brett Farve and Uncle Rico have legitimate arguments, too. Keep this is mind also, Dan Marino's Miami Dolphins team is the only team to defeat the '85 Chicago Bears that season, so..... Carry on..... Thanks.

I think of Dan Marino like a early 2000's Texas Tech with Mike Leach coaching. They threw the ball all over everyone because it wasn't normal to do so yet. Essentially they were ahead of the curve on passing the ball. Ultimately, they had some good, even great, seasons but NEVER won anything of significance. It all amounted to a lot of hollow numbers. The '85 Bears win is an interesting factoid, but no one would take Miami's season over Chicago's. Marino was a great QB, but I don't think his numbers mixed with the era in which he played and his lack of titles warrants top 5 inclusion. He is 21st all time in career QB Rating. He compiled huge passing numbers by throwing 34.5 passes per game in a league that averaged about 20 a game. He's also 47th in career completion %, right between Kyle Orton and Jake Delhomme. ------------------------------ My top 5 (in no particular order): Montana, Brady, Manning, Young, Elway... others I thought about Marino, Kelly, Rodgers, Brees, Favre, Graham, Unitas, Staubach, Tarkenton, Starr ------------------------------ Come on Lennon2217 throw your hat in the ring.

Can't go wrong with Brady. He's got elite regular season stats. Elite postseason stats. He's got the comeback stats. Never turns the ball over. His teams are never out of any game until the final whistle blows.

I have to say... I'm struggling to give a tit about the NFL these days. Overall the league has lost most of its appeal to me.
There is little parity overall. Just look at the top 10 QB's in the league and those teams will almost always be in the playoffs, and the only way to get one of those QB's is by luck.
The players get treated like crap. It's them who risk serious, life changing injury on the daily.

Curious to see how Jimmy Garoppolo looks in tonight's first Patriots preseason game......apparently, the Greatest Living American isn't playing, oh well.
I think everything's gonna be ok, reason being is because Jimmy G. looks like Aladdin....
God bless.

The Patriot defense should be good.....they're kinda counting on the defense to carry them during the greatest living American's bullshit suspension.....good defensive line and linebackers, and the secondary's been together for quite a while. Thanks.

Kapernick can do what he wants, however my grandfather who served in New Guinea whilst the US were there (they asked for his technician skills near the end) for 2 years would probably bonk him on the head and ask him why. Grandfather also sang the US and Australian anthems with great gusto (claiming later that way too much opera had done that to him). So it is kinda offensive to me, knowing how my grandfather served with the US.
