A couple key points from today's hearing.
- Judge Berman made it very clear the total lack of direct evidence suggesting Tom Brady knew of the deflated balls or played a part.
- He also totally dismissed the ball boys texts from mid October. "We are only talking about the game on January 18th". NFL lawyer Nash said they have no texts for that game.
- Berman also made it clear that the Wells Report was not an independent fact finding mission but one paid for and influenced by the NFL.
Another smart move for the Brady camp was acknowledging they should have played it differently with his phone and are willing to accept a heavy fine for that which is already in place in the current CBA. A similar fine was handed down to Brett Favre when he was in trouble with his cell phone and Dick pics.
All in all these are very positive signs for Tom Brady. The NFL should be scared come August 19th and beyond.

I know it's not mandatory but Brady BETTER show up at court next Wednesday. I feel like Judge Berman is testing both Brady and Goodell here by saying they don't need to appear. Be there Tom. It shows respect and that you are fighting for freedom.

Australian media is masturbating over Hayne. 53 yards and his place isn't guaranteed yet.

From all reports the NFL got HAMMERED again in court by Judge Berman over lack of evidence and not using an independent arbitrator for the Wells Report and appeals hearing. I can't see how the NFL wins this. Such a clown show on their part.

Dont really watch football all that much, but damn Kelvin Benjamin getting hurt sucks for the Panthers. Dude had a pretty great rookie year. Really like him, and it seems we've finally found a guy after Smith's departure. Gonna be a let down year not seeing him and Cam connect.

ESPNs legal analyst Lester munson was on the radio today and said he actually thinks this means the judge will rule in the NFLs favor. Starts around the 31 minute mark. espn.go.com/espnradio/play?id=13471026

Not sure why the judge would continue to do that unless the judge really feels an injustice was served to Brady. No evidence and Berman established that both the Wells Report AND Goodell being the arbitrator were not fair nor independent for Tom Brady. Like they said in the podcast, a lot of other legal experts are saying Brady is in a great position, like this legal guy, they have vast experience on the matter too. I'm not sure what legal advice or interpretation is correct. I will say that Berman exploited many holes in the NFL case and has now twice stated that Wells and Goodell were non independent and had an agenda. To me that can only mean bad news for the league.

It'll be interesting to see what the final judgement is. Munson doubled down on his remarks the other day and said he likes Florio.
