I really think you are missing the point that we are making .. it's not about Noel being there is about that song! It's the song that's made a difference That song united so many people in manc in the last 2 weeks! So it amazing that chris Martin stepped up and played it for the people of manc that's what the gig was about Is just a shame Noels didn't play it himself, do a video , tweet or anything when like Sarah cox said about Liam so Manchester like rock with it running through him etc Did you guys all know DLBIA was gonna be the song of the night? Was this assumed prior to tonight? I'm being serious. Like did Noel know this? Did anyone? Not sure what you mean but as it's been the song symbolising the last 2 weeks suppose it could've been? Noel probs saw as re entered chart only 66 etc been loads and loads of press about the song being sung by crowds in manc? So yeah I'd guess a lot of people would've excepted this to by huge tonight! Guess arguably chris Martin and Ariana 'duetting' it leads to this situ for people outside the uk? But guess as this was for manc been nice to see Noel acknowledge its importance to the city of Manchester

Anyway I'm glad one showed up and I'm glad that it was Liam from a personal point of view, not that its really important which one it was. He did well and he did it for Manchester and I'm sure Noel is just as appalled at want went on. Didn't he say as much and that he was touched by the impromptu singing of DLBIA? I'm not arguing that he didn't. I'm saying I have no doubt Noel has been feeling the same pain as people around this country have been feeling over the last week or two. As I said I'm just glad one of them went, a lot of people in Manchester have a sort of pride in Oasis and I'm glad they were represented and Liam nailed it. He did them proud.

I can't stand people bitching about Chris Martin or Coldplay performing Oasis songs or accusing Chris Martin of "murdering" DLBIA. And I'm not even a Coldplay fan by the way. It's just stupid. Enjoy the gig and understand the moment and its meaning. I've been reading this pish all over the place tonight, under tonight's videos.

I didn't hear that myself. I apologize for being ignorant on that regard. I just thought you meant it was played at the show, it was massive and Noel should have sung it. That's all. Didn't know the rest.

This was not the right time or place for an Oasis reunion. One person to represent the band was enough, and I'm glad it was Liam.

Some people have it all figured out don't they? No one even truly knew what was going down tonight however it would seem by the numerous complaints and accusations a good bunch of people on here have hold all the facts. There are a lot of grown-ass individuals who should perhaps stop assuming quite so much. If it's really that important to some maybe waiting for Liam or Noel to comment on the situation might be a worthwhile endeavour rather than speculating on whatever narrative you've constructed in your head.
That to one side it was a great gesture from Liam and (without getting carried away with it) a decent performance from him too. Shame whoever was doing the soundboard did a shit job for the first two songs but nevermind, it didn't take away from the moment.

Went to watch SOAD at Rock am Ring after Liam, turned this again after they finished. Have only one thing to say. Liam in the last chorus of Live Forever made me cry, holy shit

When people were laying flowers and wreaths the day or so after the attack, the crowd spontaneously starting singing DLBIA and it became a news story and it reentered the charts etc.

Didn't know the rest. That's cool not saying you should know But guess why people are little disappointed is cos it has been the manc 'anthem' for the last 2 weeks. So while Liam smashed it tonight rock n roll star and wall of glass was irrelevant 'really' not a Liam slight as all artist did songs not relevant For the mood of manc noel at doing at least something to do with DLBIA even an snap chat introducing it for me would've shown some love vs nothing. No acknowledgement for the way that song has brought manc together That's all but anyway onelovemanchester is most important thing

Good on Liam for doing his home city proud.
Best vocal performance in God knows how many years - two decades?
Beautiful rendition of Live Forever, absolutely spellbinding.

Boring blah Liam vs. Noel debates yet again, we all know how those end up.
Barring all of that noise aside, Noel is getting thrashed online from tons of people, not just random online fans.
Is this just a giant overreaction that'll simmer down in several weeks, and by the time LP3 is out no one will care?

I think everyone here is feeling a bit now to be honest.

Nothing like putting Liam back on a massive stadium stage for him to pull out his best vocal performance in years.....

What an amazing and incredible time to be a Liam Gallagher fan.
He's not only looking amazing, he's singing on the album & live is the best in fuck knows how long, he's single 'Wall of Glass' is absolutely fantastic and getting so much positivity on social media and already has 36k likes! Noel's best is 41k on YouTube, he'll overtake that in no time! Gigs are selling out so fast & getting positive reviews, the new tunes are sounding extremely promising at the gigs. His image is prob the best I have EVER seen it online, I mean even the Daily Mail comments on all his recent articles are ALL positive. Insane!!
He's going to see some MASSIVE success with this album mark my words.

Enjoy the gig and understand the moment and its meaning. I've been reading this pish all over the place tonight, under tonight's videos. This, I mean, Noel was probably okay with it. I can't see Coldplay agreeing to do it unless been told that Noel didn't want to do it himself. Yeah, Chris martin's voice wasn't the best tonight, but props to Coldplay for stepping up and doing it.

They could've called Liam's mom to play the acoustic guitar, instead of Chris Martin -- I loathe this man.
Now, Liam had just played in Rock Im Ring and he flew to England to give that stunning performance! That was truly exciting!

Agreed theres no need to shit on Coldplay for doing DLBIA. They didnt need to do anything. The man who made the song didnt bother ffs.

Guys (and chicks) what's happening? I thought I heard it at Brixton but I put it down to my excitement...but this proves it beyond doubt.
Liam Gallagher's voice has ACTUALLY gained power and that old raspiness. I'm literally so shocked and happy at this happening. I can't believe it.
How the hell has he managed this? It makes absolutely no sense to the narrative of his voice/ career demise. This is the comeback we actually secretly hoped and thought was a faraway dream. It has happened! So happy the nasal Kermit thing is fading away. I just can't believe this! So proud of him
