Man that Liam and Noel. Didn't take part in that global telecast to support 9/11 victims and the city of New York. Anti American fuckers!

I don't think those artists are as closely tied to NY as Noel is to Manchester, and you know it. Neither is any band from Manchester as big as Oasis is to that city. This was a time when he really should have turned up, or sent a video message. He will have some explaining to do next time he appears in public, the fucking tosser! You obviously (no offense) don't know anything about Bob Dylan or Paul Simon. Think long and deep on that one. Bob Dylan never really did it for me. Paul Simon - I quite like a few of his tracks and that's about it. No need for me to think long and hard at all about it.

Bob Dylan was the mayor of Greenwich village?!?!? That guy is more tied to 60's NY than the Empire State Building. I didn't know that, and I doubt many others would either. Whereas anyone who knows Noel Gallagher would know immediately which city he is from. His song has become the anthem for the tragic event. Was a Dylan song chosen as the anthem for 9/11? Did anyone know a Noel song would be prior to it being performed live? Dude........if you know Dylan or Simon. Those guys are New York. You can't really explore them as artists without finding that out fast.

Don't try to justify this, one brother did an amazing job to be there and other brother no, it's simple. We in this forum love Noel and Liam, but it's just to say that Noel was wrong this evening... If you're going to take this position, at the very least wait for Noel to tell us why he wasn't there. He's still a human being and he goes through his own shit the same as the rest of us.

I cried when Liam came on!! I sat through hours of awful music including Grande singing off key and whatever it is the Biebs was doing, and the awful dancing and outfits and Katy Perry and watching Chris "Geography Teacher" Martin singing DLBIA just for a slight chance that I would catch Liam singing!!
And he came through!! And I shed some tears. I've loved Liam since 1994 and I'm so proud that amongst all those little teenyboppers he came on stage and brought the damn house down!!!
LIVE FOREVER LIAM!!!!

Noel was probably too busy eating tofu.
In one of his really, really, REALLY big houses.
(Sorry).

Liam made me feel like a 16 year old again tonight - being absolutely mesmerised by that voice. It's nights like this that my adolescent self speaks up from inside me and screams 'well of course he was always the fucking best you twat!'.

Paul Simon - I quite like a few of his tracks and that's about it. No need for me to think long and hard at all about it. Fair enough. Then you can't make factually incorrect statements about two guys who lived and sung about New York for years. It inspired them.

Does that really matter, whether you knew it or not? But most people in America associate Greenwich Village New York to Dylan, just as much as Oasis is associated with Manchester. It's impossible to write a history of 60's NY without making half the book about Dylan's role. He was an absolutely massive artistic, cultural, and social figure for that period. 9/11 was a massive event (not that this isn't), but I don't think one singular song could have been chosen for it.

Lennon on fire right now. Not really just my opinion of what I think the mood of Manchester would've felt right! His song that he sings is the theme of this tragedy Obv noel didn't want to do it so left it to chris Martin and Ariana to fly its flag! Well played to them! Noel doesn't have to do anything and he didn't but I think my opinion can say I think he should've Hey man, this is a forum. Nothing but opinions. Some more wilder than others. Express away.

Apart from Liams amazing performance Im still in shock of seeing Ariana Grande performing an Oasissong live. That was a sight I never thought I would see in a million years.
That and Liam performing together with Coldplay. He need'nt have performed with Noel tonight imo, performing Live Forever together with Coldplay was a big enough statement in my opinion. Especially considering everything Liam has said about them over the years.

But Noel was well aware his song has become the anthem ever since the attack happened.

I'm just glad one of them did it and in a way I'm more glad it was Liam as generally he's just down with people.
