Idk, but as Lennon said, there were other artists who didn't show up. There were other MAJOR Manchester artists who could have sent in a video message. I think Noel is being targeted mostly as Don't Look Back In Anger has been the sort of song that people have got behind during all this, Oasis have got a lot of attention from this. Other Manchester bands haven't. Just thought it would of been nice for Noel to do something but oh well. Liam stepped up big time. I think it's fantastic that Liam stepped up. But people making this out to be Noel as the unfeeling millionaire, well his charitable history paints a different story. And him not showing up for a concert shouldn't erase the long history he has had for standing up for charitable endeavors. I don't think that's an outlandish opinion. It would have been nice for Noel to show up, but it would have been nice for a lot of other artists to show up, whether their songs are anthems for a city or not. That shouldn't be the determining factor on throwing hate on one individual rather than the more than handful who took the same course.

It helps massively that Liam was already in a touring routine, as were most of the other acts. Noel isn't touring so quite simply might not have been prepared. Are we really going to have a Liam v Noel argument on a tribute concert to the victims? That's a new low for this forum. Bottom line is Liam absolutely nailed it tonight and just made an emotional tribute even more powerful. That's all we should be focusing on. True. Guess I was disappointed about Noel not being there to at least perform DLBIA or leaving a video message. However, we really don't know the circumstances and he wasn't the only big name missing (missed a lot of big Mancunian bands, actually). Also, he has done so much for charity over the years. And not just with Teenage Cancer Trust. The positive thing is that Liam did a great job indeed. The fact he flew in from Germany and just did this is very admirable. Was a nice surprise (although kind of to be expected as he moved his performance to two hours earlier)

Everyone knows Noel's wife wouldn't let him out for the day.

Man that Bob Dylan and Paul Simon. Not attending the Concert for New York. Fucking scum! You made millions singing about New York and life. I don't think those artists are as closely tied to NY as Noel is to Manchester, and you know it. Neither is any band from Manchester as big as Oasis is to that city. This was a time when he really should have turned up, or sent a video message. He will have some explaining to do next time he appears in public, the fucking tosser!

This isn't about Liam vs Noel to me It's about one of their most famous sons sitting silent Like I said. So many New Yorkers didn't play the Concert for New York. 9/11. Brave New World. I don't hold that against anyone. It's not about them. It's about the city and victims and prevention. Did the set lists make the rounds days prior to celebs. Did Noel not see the giant Oasis symbol n the sky like Batman to fly back to Manchester to sing DLBIA. Did I miss something? Lennon on fire right now.

I think Noel wanted to give Liam some space there as he is just starting his solo path etc. I wouldn't judge him so quickly.

As I said above this isn't about hate or anything just disappointed that as one of mancs most famous sons had NOTHING to do with a song that's given people togetherness in the last two weeks This gig was all about Manchester and he should be all about Manchester just a shame no hate or Liam vs Noel etc

I've said my bit on it. Lets focus on the positives now. I'm still buzzing haha.
Was very nervous when Liam was doing Wall Of Glass as chorus is very hard to sing, did it with ease though!

Lennon on fire right now. Not really just my opinion of what I think the mood of Manchester would've felt right! His song that he sings is the theme of this tragedy Obv noel didn't want to do it so left it to chris Martin and Ariana to fly its flag! Well played to them! Noel doesn't have to do anything and he didn't but I think my opinion can say I think he should've

Don't try to justify this, one brother did an amazing job to be there and other brother no, it's simple. We in this forum love Noel and Liam, but it's just to say that Noel was wrong this evening...

Whereas anyone who knows Noel Gallagher would know immediately which city he is from. His song has become the anthem for the tragic event. Was a Dylan song chosen as the anthem for 9/11?
