I can't believe Morrissey, Jonny Marr, Doves, New Order or The Stone Roses didn't show up. I mean you could say that about so many people. A ton of artists didn't do the concert for New York, does that make them bad? No. The focus isn't really about who didn't play but who did and for the cause/awareness. Man. This.

Good on Liam for showing up and surprising everyone, but I don't see why that means people have to slam Noel for not making an appearance. :/

Noel's absence is more of note as DLBIA was performed by a different band tonight, and the fact his brother made such a huge effort.

we are talking about the same dick who shit on "supersonic" ? Noel is almost ashamed of oasis He is in an other step of his life. Probably soon he will turn into a vegan Noel was busy choosing the tracklist for the 25th anniversary edition of Definitely Maybe: Disc 2: 1. Sad Song (Live) 2. Take Me Away (Live) 3. Fade Away (Acoustic, Noel) 4. Shakermaker (Acoustic, Noel) 5. Live Forever (Acoustic, Noel) 6. Up in the Sky (Acoustic, Noel) 7. Supersonic (Acoustic, Noel) 8. Digsy's Dinner (Acoustic, Noel) 9. Slide Away (Acoustic, Noel) 10. Married with Children (Live, Noel) 11. Listen Up (Acoustic, Noel)

I think they would have invited him. But who knows. Also, even if he was on holiday, I think he could have gotten over. It's not like he was in America or across the globe. Italy is a decent flight, but certainly not back breaking. However, before people start laying into Noel as the unfeeling millionaire. This is a guy who has played TCT every other year, has run it, and has contributed songs, performances, and memorabilia for auction to multiple charities and organizations, often with little fanfare. Its easy to look at a Madonna/Bono party, and judge that as Noel, but Noel has done a shit load for charity. So, before we all start jumping on Noel, none us of actually know Noel or Liam. None of us have their daily planner. None of us know what's going on in their lives. There was no reason what so ever to not send at least a video message. Idk, but as Lennon said, there were other artists who didn't show up. There were other MAJOR Manchester artists who could have sent in a video message.

Even with anti terrorism/charity for Manchester gig, the knives still get sharpened for Liam vs Noel. It's crazy.

I just watched Liam's segment.
I can quite comfortably, hand on heart say, that in the 9 years I've been on this forum, that was the best vocals I've ever heard from him in that time. Just outstanding, gobsmacked and delighted he's still got it in him.

Thank God Liam turned up. The event was crying out for a brothers reunion, but at least one of them showed up.
When the dust has settled, the one thing that people will remember is that Noel didn't turn up. He really has gone down in my estimation after this.
The event was far bigger than an Oasis reunion, and Noel should have put his differences aside for this. To not even record a video message just shows what a complete tosser he really is.

If someone had told me ten years ago that Liam would sound that good in 2017, I would've laughed out loud. He sounds really really good!

Surely as a manc native , with young kids etc some sort of recognition should've happened? The fact it was covered shows it's importance He could've just introduced it via a video message

I think Noel is being targeted mostly as Don't Look Back In Anger has been the sort of song that people have got behind during all this, Oasis have got a lot of attention from this. Other Manchester bands haven't. Just thought it would of been nice for Noel to do something but oh well. Liam stepped up big time.

It helps massively that Liam was already in a touring routine, as were most of the other acts. Noel isn't touring so quite simply might not have been prepared.
Are we really going to have a Liam v Noel argument on a tribute concert to the victims? That's a new low for this forum. Bottom line is Liam absolutely nailed it tonight and just made an emotional tribute even more powerful. That's all we should be focusing on.

What a gig tonight, liam was just UNBELIEVABLE, dare I say its the best he's sounded live since the nineties???
I hope his solo career takes off after all this, he deserves it after all. I hope theres a lot of kids turned on to this great music after seeing it on bbc1 tonight.
The buzz surrounding oasis/liams comeback is nothing but BIBLICAL at the moment. What a time to be alive despite some of the atrocities that have been occurring.

I don't hold that against anyone. It's not about them. It's about the city and victims and prevention. Did the set lists make the rounds days prior to celebs. Did Noel not see the giant Oasis symbol n the sky like Batman to fly back to Manchester to sing DLBIA. Did I miss something?
