So proud of Liam. To get his time slot at the festival changed to earlier to get a flight back in time for this. And can I say... Where the fuck did them vocals come from? Amazing! I am amazed by all this!!!! What a man!

My first impression was also to think that Noel was acting really shitty by not being there. Surely he must have been invited. But we have to consider one of these scenarios:
1- He actually was not invited 2- He's overseas 3- He didn't want the fundraiser to become a Liam and Noel reunion thing and keep the focus on the good gesture.
Of course, Liam and Noel playing Live Forever together would have been a great symbolic... but still let's not jump the gun.

Like not even phone it in like he tends to do just to make it known. Manchester is his city and DLBIA has been the unofficial Manchester anthem for this tragedy.

Could've flown over, except if he's somewhere that's 12 hours flying away. 3. Could've at least recorded a video message.

And I'm not bothered if Noel is there or not, he might have other things on etc. Its just good one of them was there but there is no way he wasn't asked.

Just a thought but maybe a Gallagher re-union would have taken something away from the event as that would have been where all the attention was. Maybe not tbe right time or occasion ?

Noel even said about the Olympics they approached him first and rightly so these type of things would as the songwriter

I am amazed by all this!!!! What a man! Nice one, really! Liam acted like a proper class act with this. This must have been quite a puzzle flying back from Germany after doing a gig and singing so well. Wow!

It would've overshadowed everything. But they could have performed seperately. Besides, it was what most people were already talking about anyway.

I can't believe Morrissey, Jonny Marr, Doves, New Order or The Stone Roses didn't show up. I mean you could say that about so many people. A ton of artists didn't do the concert for New York, does that make them bad? No. The focus isn't really about who didn't play but who did and for the cause/awareness.

For #2 I said overseas to illustrate how far he could be. If Liam was able to fly in from Germany, Noel could have made it if in Europe. But yes he could have recorded a video message but did anyone else do that? I didn't see the whole gig. If no one else did that it would have been strange and pointless to do that. Although a quick acoustic rendition of DLBIA would have been an interesting move.

Thinking it would be more of a low key pop concert. In the end it's turned out to be pretty great and poignant for the whole country on prime time TV and in the wake of another attack. He's fucked up big time.

The difference by FAR that here and in manc DLBIA has become 'an anthem' because of this cause / tradegy But nothing from the guy who should be singing it and instead left chris Martin to sing and Ariana looking awkward not knowing the song

Also, even if he was on holiday, I think he could have gotten over. It's not like he was in America or across the globe. Italy is a decent flight, but certainly not back breaking. However, before people start laying into Noel as the unfeeling millionaire. This is a guy who has played TCT every other year, has run it, and has contributed songs, performances, and memorabilia for auction to multiple charities and organizations, often with little fanfare. Its easy to look at a Madonna/Bono party, and judge that as Noel, but Noel has done a shit load for charity. So, before we all start jumping on Noel, none us of actually know Noel or Liam. None of us have their daily planner. None of us know what's going on in their lives.

Loads of people did it, from Bastille to sir Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, U2 and the likes.
